Can someone tell me how you get a dev kit, what it does, and what they are?

Its an xbox that can run custom xexs to let us play maps with unsigned code because we cant sign halo 3 .map files and the reason you cant use those tools is because they edit .map files which you cant use unsigned unless you have a devkit. A devkit costs $700-$1600. Happy?

Its a developer tool used to for developing xbox 360 games that people have decided to use to run Halo 3 mods. It doesnt run unsigned code

I was explaining it in a way that is easier for him to understand. Also, it does run unsigned code if you modify the xex.

I have one so I would know lol.

No, it does not. You have to sign it again with the dev keys, which makes it signed.

the browser doesnt work on this for me....can anyone else get it working?

But the modified xex doesn't perform the check for the keys in the map file so you don't have to resign the map file.

I'm not saying it runs the xex unsigned. The reason we can do the things we can on devkits is because we have keys to sign the xex with because we build the xex for it, and we can't get the key on a retail.

Looks good, it can be organized a bit more and the top is a bit crowded but other than that i like it. Good job

Since when did playing modded map files turn into running unsigned code? And, there's no keys in the map file...

Admit you were wrong and move on okay? There's no point in trying to twist what you said into being correct, because it was not.

It runs off of internet explorer do you have it? What's the error/problem?

oh i have mozilla firefox..
also i cant use it, when i click login it says their is an update and when i click ok, it says
"unable to auto-check for update, their may be a problem with your internet connection"??

Do you have the updater.exe file in the same folder as dfbrowser.exe?

......the thing you click on to start DFBrowser is a file called DFBrowser.exe, you have to make sure it is in the same folder on your computer as the the file called updater.exe which is the file that updates DFBrowser. They have to be in the same folder as each other and that could be the problem.
