User map Modding F.A.Q.

Hey i have a noobish question, i haven't started moding yet and my xport is coming in the mail. Say I have 100 unused respawn points in forge. I put one on the map, and then i mod the map and replace the respawn point with a spartan clone. If i went back into forge, would i have 100 respawn points again (because the clone replaced the respawn point) or would i only have 99 respawn points (the clone counts as a respawn point)?

I'm pretty sure you would have 100 spawn points still, because it removes the spawn point and places a spartan in it's place in modding.. even though it would make no difference. You wouldn't be able to place spawn points and save because then the game would remove the modded content, eg the spartan.

No, the respawn points are returned in the Forge pallet because you swapped the spawn points, meaning they aren't there anymore.

Im new to the halo 3 stuff but if i download a modded user map for lets say last resort i reisiged it after i downloaded it and then put it on my xsata it did not show up under last resort or anything what do i have to do to get a modded user map to work and it said i have to use my own ID please help

One last quistion when i open forge 2.3 and then a usermap and change the amount of money of the forge map it does not work but the author change did and i did click save am i apposed to do something else to make it work

budget changes havent worked so far, may be a bug with forge or stored in a different place in the usermap.

You have to resign with your profile and device ids

you get them from opening up one of your maps in the resigner and copy them

Nah, the budget is in the right place as Forge can read it correctly since it's what's displayed in the actual Halo 3 Forge. It just doesn't work for some reason, plus it "snaps" back when you place an object anyways. It seems like it totals up the object count with each item's budget.

As of the Newest update ( APRIL 09 ) can you play modded maps online w/ friends without getting banned or do they hammer your a$$? I still have porn screenshots and i play online everyday and i havent been banned for that. Is there a difference or will i bungied?

So it's been about 10 months since I've payed attention to the modding community for Halo 3. Now that school's about out and summer's growing nearer, I'm going to have time to mess around with this type of stuff again. So my question is basically what's different? Is forge modding still possible? Are there updated con resigners? Is bungie a lot harsher lately towards modders? If so what will they ban you for?
These are a few questions that come to mind.
