Halo 3:ODST modding

How do you, if you can, mod halo 3:ODST. And also, what type of mods can you do because I've been modding halo 3 for a long time now and I want to, if I can, mod halo 3:ODST.

eh i might start experimenting with modding ODST i figure its pretty much the same deal.

mm.... I'll probably start trying anyway. Just follow the same procedure. Not much harm can be done.

Halo 3: ODST modding is modding the personal file. From what I've been told it has heavy security that needs a program to calculate the checksum. I've also heard that modding it isn't exactly the same as modding a usermap.

From what I have seen, tested, heard of, ect.
Halo ODST will be limited to only film and campaign modding. Its the same engine as halo 3, so same security, same things to mod it, just different charatcers ect. Its not that hard to grasp. Take whats in Halo 3, then subtract what features ODST doesn't have, and recall the things in Halo 3 that could be modded, that are still left in ODST.

Correct me if im wrong, but you cant just take a personal file and mod it. You have to make, or receive, a modded personal file that has been modded on a dev. Then it must be resigned to work on a retail, which is where the trouble comes in.

I do have a question for those who mod campaign: An attempt was once made by a few of you more intelligent modders to make a public program to resign modded saves to retail. Why was this not continued, or fixed? And what is keeping you guys from releasing methods of getting past the security? There is nothing to lose. However, i do understand that if the methods were released people would beg and pressure dev modders to make more saves, and there would be requests up the butthole. Now understand this, im not asking for a tutorial and im not trying to be annoying so please dont take this the wrong way. Im just curious about this whole situation
