Free Mythic Map Pack Now!

Ever since the Mythic maps were released for people who have Halo Wars Legendary edition. I have viewed multiple posts with people who want them now and want them for free. I’m going to explain why you cannot get them now and why you cannot get them for free.


The Mythic maps are stored in a LIVE container file. Not to be mistaken with a CON file.


A CON file is what contains gamesaves, usermaps, screenshots, and films. These are signed by the console by a file called “kv.bin”. The “kv.bin” has been extracted from the console and a program was made to decode it and resign CON files.

A LIVE file is what the Xbox uses to store anything you download off of the XBL Marketplace. It is signed by some other kevault that is not assessable to anyone but Microsoft. Therefore we cannot make a resigner for it. It is crucial that the LIVE files are signed for your console or else there is no way of getting it to work no matter what you do. The files of a LIVE container NEED to be inside a LIVE container or else they won’t work. Copying them off the internet or your friends HDD won’t work. They need to be downloaded on your console and on your console only.

There are ways to get them to work on a Dev console. But I will not go into that because no one on this website has any use of this information. Except for like two people who actually have a Dev Console.

Bottom line is you cannot get them for free or you cannot get them early. Get a job or kids save up your money, and be patient. Trust me it will be worth it all at the end.

If I got something wrong, or I left something out please feel free to correct me. I don’t know everything about Xbox 360 files and I’m pretty sure I got something wrong.

the only reason i wanted to see if i can get them early is cause Gamestop.com screwed me and alot of other people and didn't stock enough to ship lol

Wrong. THere is a way, Venomous did it. I'm trying to do it also, just waiting for the other acc I'm suppose to be getting.

Yes, but this is in a modding sense. For the people who expect to modify the file to get it to work on their Xbox.

I knew about that. What I am trying to explain is that you cannot copy the files off of the internet, stick them on you HDD and expect them to work.

No. That's a roundabout way of getting them. They're not free at all because someone is still paying for them, and your "friend" loses his licenses for offline play. You're basically screwing him over.

Your method fails. You are screwing your friend over big time. Also the fact that you think it is a "Glitch" made me roll around on the floor laughing my *** off. I don't think you know what the license transfer was for considering you call it a "glitch". License transfer= Fail

Finally someone else gets it. I have tried saying that forever. That is absolutely the worst way to receive dlc.

Yep, I got mine at 12:00 AM the release date. Ive had them for a while and now Im bored of them.

You can do it. I have dont it with my xbox 360. The only reason why it didn't work completely is because I only had 1/3rd of each maps and could not put them together. It would only work if you had someone else start the load and not you.

I know that, but it defeats the purpose of having them. And if that person is offline your screwd.

can you do anything if you friend, who bought it, recovered his account and "re"downloaded the mythicmappack onto your console? It still would be saved on YOUR console, and wouldn't you need to just move the dlc from his profile to yours?

My friend DID download it on MY console, exactly how I said. Can I get it for free?

the only way for some1 to get them for free is if [the buyer] downloads it on your console ....then your console has th live files assigned to your profile and then [the buyer] can download them on there console, for him to use, but because them files are only assigned to [the buyer]'s GT he will only be able to use the DLC whilst he is online
