Can I change the avatars weapon?

Hello, I am new here to se7ensins. But I have been modding for a while now. I have a question...
You know on your Halo 3 avatar, how it holds a weapon and shows your armor? Well in the I wondered if the weapon could be changed, like to a sniper. It doesn't feel or sound like .map editing. So I think I could HXD it to a new weapon, but it will take a while. So if anyone has any info. on this, tell me please....
