| Novice | Ok so basically I have followed all the tutorial threads and I have done everything to make the files. I have all the container files for my maps, but when I convert it to a .map file and try to open it with forge, sandbox, engineer, or even johnson none of them can read the .map file, can anyone help me? |

| Novice | Re: New to modding and need help What tutorial are you talking about? From what I understand, you can only mod .map files with a devkit. Forge and friends are for editing CON files, they have no file extension. |

| Junior Member | Re: New to modding and need help I strongly recommend that you use Forge 2.6 (2.7 had problems(for me at least) ) Forge has all of the Tags in it. No need to hex edit as it does it all for you. It is very easy and if you cant figure it out wait untill Friday as i will be making the most in-depth Video Tut ever created. |
