| Novice | A few Q's I recently started modding halo 3 and I have a few questions. 1. When I open a map in forge (program) all the stuff is squished together and I can't tell whats what. Can I change size of the window? (how?) 2. Can you make multiple things the same thing? Like make both SMG's and magnums into elite clones, and if so how? 3. I downloaded the "play forge in slayer" game type but it's .rar, can I just drag it into my halo 3 folder on my HDD and will it work? If I get more questions can I just edit them in this post or should I just post them in this thread? (after searching for the answer of course) |

If you get more questions, just keep asking by making posts, so people will know that you asked something new. Last edited by xXAntibodyXx; 09-17-2008 at 11:20 PM. |

I tried using respawn points but I must not be replacing the right respawn point tag 'cause the mods don't show up. I'm just using the "all gametypes" respawn points, what's that tag? So you can only place 100 of something because there's only 100 respawn points. You can't have both respawn points and magnums be say, elephants for example? | Junior Member | Re: A few Q's Well, you can make a map with every spawnable thing on it (all grenades, respawn points, etc.), and replace them all with elites if you wanted, however there's an easier way. If you put a single item onto a map, it could be a teleporter for example, and go into the forge program and clone the teleporter chunk, and then change the coords of each chunk to where you want it, you can have hundreds of teleporters, or the item you replaced it with, on the map, even though you really only placed one item on the map. | Junior Member | Re: A few Q's I can write a tutorial tomorrow if you can wait, i don't have time today. You know you can use the pan-cam to find the coordinates, right? |

| Junior Member | Re: A few Q's Well someone else will have to tell you all of that, I meant to test it myself when I was able to mod, which, because my transfer cable wont work, wont be for a while (I'm not spending more money on this crap game when I'll have Far Cry 2's map editor soon). | Novice | Re: A few Q's ok, I have lots of problems with many things. and I think hex editing would be easier for what I'm trying to do. what are the hex numbers for EVERY item on valhalla? (weapons, all scenery, vehics, all of them) A link to them would suffice too. PS. Johnson won't work so I can't use that. |

| Junior Member | Re: A few Q's Johnson won't work because you're probably trying to use it with usermaps, right? You need clean, unmodded maps: Board Message Download then and use them in johnson, then it will work. And no dude, hex editing is much less easy and there are less options with it! Is it because you don't know which coordinates are which? Then test it! Can you not turn on pan-cam? Keep trying, you need to press all of the buttons at once. Is your problem with cloning chunks? It's not that hard to figure out... |

| Novice | Re: A few Q's I'm trying to make a super thick forest on Valhalla but I can't successfully get mulitiple objects to be trees. Can someone explain how? |

| 7S Addict | Re: A few Q's It would be easier to use Forge, hex can be kinda confusing. All you do is put down objects you want to turn into trees (example- SMG's and Magnums) then in Forge you change both the wepons into trees. Its not that hard to figure out. |

| Novice | Re: A few Q's when I change smg's to trees in works but the magnums are smgs. Can you post some pics of where to go in forge? |

| 7S Addict | Re: A few Q's What can you not figure anything out your self? on the left side you find the tag for the smg and click on it, in the middle there will be a drop down bar where you pick what you want to change the smg to. you find the tree and click save. you go back to the left side and find the magnum and do the same as you did with the smg. Its not hard |

| 7S Addict | Re: A few Q's Yes, I know how to do all that but when I go to switch the magnums to trees there are two tree tags (there was one when I switched the SMG's for trees) and I think both of those tree tags turn magnums into SMG's because I switched trees for SMG's, from what your saying, this shouldn't happen, I don't see how I could be screwing this up. Is there a chunk editor program? one where I could change the coords of stuff I place. just like forge's but with out everything else? |
