![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Lag switches are useless.... Put the switch between your modem and router, or make sure you dont flip the switch for too long. An alternative solution would be to bridge your connection with your PC and use Zone Alarm.... since you obviously are wanting to standby. What a lag switch does is completely stop your internet by disconnecting the ethernet cable....

![]() | since you have your lag switch connect between your xbox 360 and your modem or router all your 360 is thinking is that you disconnected your ethernet port, thus disconnecting you from live instead of lagging

![]() | It doesn't "completely stop your internet by disconnecting the ethernet cable", it stops you receiving packets from the internet by breaking the receiving cable. You can still send packets. And it doesn't really matter where you put it... as long as it's not attached directly to the XBOX, because the XBOX can detect voltage differences between the cables in the patch lead. You could attach it to the exchange box half way down your street ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Lagswitches are so dumb...Its EXACTLY like the stop button in ZAP. It doesnt make you send packets either it cuts off the connection like a standby. Just use ZAP. You have way more control.

If you're smart, you'll make it so it cuts the cable attached to the 6th pin in your CAT5 cable (but some hubs switch things round, so you may have to cut the connection on the 2nd pin). This way, your Xbox still tells microsoft's servers that you're connected so you can still play.
