[ODST] "Prepare to Drop" campaign map in Firefirefight!

Tutorial on how to play the "Prepare to Drop" campaign map in Firefight. COOL glitch!

Tutorial: While the game is doing its Bungie and Micrsoft intro, hit the "A" button RAPIDLY. If you accidently go into campaign, Go to the menu and put highlight Firefight, and try the Glitch again

I can't get this to work. I hit A very fast and it takes me to the firefight lobby. The map select between skulls and difficulty is blank, but it won't let me start it. The start firefight option is grayed out and there is a flashing message saying, "The current map is not available. Please select a different map." Do you have a better description of how to do this?

I got it.
1. Make sure to go to the campaign lobby and get "Prepare To Drop" loaded into the cache
2. Go to Firefight lobby and exit to dashboard
3. If you haven't, install the game to your HDD
4. Load game while rapidly pressing A, it will work.


This appears to work with H3 as well, installing to HDD right now, will post results.
Edit: "Arrival" in multiplayer defaults to Construct, so fail.

Do you actually get to play this map or, do you just float around in Flying camera?

You just float, and it doesn't show up in your recent films.

So ive done everything in the Tut, even tried it offline, but I alwas get the Current Map is Unavailable no matter what I try.

Please give a better expanation than this.I do exactly what it says and it just takes to the firefight menu with crater,not prepare to drop.And do I have to have it on my harddrive or not? Please give a definite explanation!

You have to Hit the A button REALLY fast. You don't need to save it to your HDD. i mean REAAALLLY fast! If you get "Current Map Unavalible" Keep trying. The first time it took me around 5 Try's to see what I did.

Do I start pressing when the bungie logo pops up,or when the disclaimer pops up? And for me it always go to campaign instead of firefight.

Go into the Firefight Lobby, then go to the Dashboard and try again. Makesure your not pushing up also.

And yes Hit the A button when the Bungie logo thing starts.

I've gotten it to work once, and I don't know how. Every other time it goes to map unavailable, and I didn't do anything different.

Clear your cache. That fixed it for me.

I've read the whole thread and things are still very muddled. Some questions:

- When you first load the "Prepare To Drop" map, should you let it get to 100% or interrupt the loading process like the guy in this video does?

YouTube - Halo 3 ODST Glitch with cutscene...

- Before restarting ODST, are you supposed to go into the Firefight lobby, or just highlight it on the main menu? (When I merely highlight it, restarting the game causes Campaign to be highlighted by default -- does this mean you're supposed to press Down to highlight Firefight and press the A button rapidly to select it, too?)

- If you do go into to the Firefight lobby prior to restarting, are you supposed to go into it by backing up to the main menu and selecting it, or by using the "Switch Lobby" button at the top of the Campaign lobby screen?

- Speaking of which, doesn't going into the Firefight lobby make the game start loading one of the Firefight maps, replacing the "Prepare to Drop" one you loaded earlier?

- As for restarting ODST, are you supposed to turn the Xbox off and turn it back on, or just back up to the Dashboard using the Guide button?

- Do you have to be signed in to Xbox Live?

- If you fail, do you have to do anything to "reset" the process before trying again?
