Help w/ force host?

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I'm using Cain and ZA and I have it set up right, like with the whole one Ethernet cord to the 360 and one to my computer and I do everything as the tutorial says with the poisoning and such, but fer some reason I can't make my friend host and it just won't work, and he isn't getting host. Is it because my internet is set to trusted? I know it should be to internet, but my computer won't run the internet when I'm not trying to do anything. Do I just switch it when I'm just doing the stuff and when I'm on the computer? Or am I doing anything else wrong? Any help?

i think it needs to be set to internet so it knows what connection you are referring to when you are switching your firewalls.

And, with the whole standby-thing, I would have to have the person I am making host do it right, er how would I do that?

all i can say is try re-doing everything, following the tutorial by krafty a little closer, and make sure your friend is not host banned.

it HAS to be internet because when you are forcing host, what you are doing is blocking all connections (including your Xbox) to connect freely, and then trusting one IP, that one IP is allowed for anything to connect to and from it, forcing it the only logical IP for host to choose because it's the only IP that can connect to every player.

even if you have your network on internet, it should still work, i dunno about you... but in that case, put your compy IP on trusted, that should work. Go to Control Panel, My Network Connections, right click on the one connected to the internet, Properties, Details, bam! that 192.168.x.xxx IP is jur compy IP <3

o.O Thank you very much. I never quite got that. And one more question... What would the IP thing be is it started with a 7 er something. Like, 76.xxx.xx.x, what IP is that. Kinda like when you go to ipchicken.com er something like that.

putting your own ISP IP wont do anything :p
you have to put just the compy IP from getting it in control panel > my network connections > blahblah
