How to Unlock New Armor in Halo 3

I have already seen several people ask about this and I am sure there will be many to come.

So I figured I would tell everyone how to get each new set of armor! Hope you all enjoy this!

Here is a picture in case you are attempting to get a specific one, read below to find how to unlock them:

Body Pieces
Spartan
EVA……………..Complete Tsavo Highway on Normal, Heroic, or Legendary
EOD……………..Complete Tsavo Highway on Legendary
Scout……………Unlock “Too Close to the Sun” Achievement (Destroy an enemy banshee with the Sp’laser or missile pod in a ranked playlist or campaign)
Hayabusa (Samurai)………….Collect 5 skulls.

Elite
Flight……………Complete Tsavo Highway on Heroic or Legendary
Ascetic…………Unlock “Up Close and Personal” Achievement (Kill 5 enemies via melee or assassination in a ranked FFA playlist)
Commando….Unlock “Triple Kill” Achievement (Get one triple kill)

Shoulder Pieces
Spartan
EVA……………..Complete The Ark on Normal, Heroic, or Legendary
EOD…………….Complete The Ark on Legendary
Security……….Earn 750 Gamerscore Points
Scout……………Unlock “We’re in for some Chop” Achievement (Destroy an enemy vehicle with a piece of equipment in a ranked playlist or campaign)

Extras
To unlock the Hayabusa Sword Add-on (attaches to back of Body Armor), you’ll need to unlock all of the achievements in Halo 3 (1000/1000 GS).

FAQ

Q: How do I get the Recon armor?
A: Currently there are only two ways (other than film modding) to get the Recon armor. The first is to work for bungie (in which case you would automatically get it and most likely not be reading this). The second way is to get very lucky and have bungie deem something of yours "recon worthy", which is usually dying in a very unusual way or making an extremely good forge map, or something of the sort. It is VERY unlikey that you will obtain the Recon armor the 2nd way.

Q: I did what it said to get the armor, but for some reason it didn't unlock. Why didn't it work?
A: Unfortunately armor unlocking can be glitchy sometimes. So the only thing that I can suggest is make sure you are doing it correctly and keep trying.
