| 7S Enthusiast | Ways to tell if you're host... Okay guys, I'm going to explain multiple methods to determine whether you are host in game. Some ways you might already know and some you might not.. Well here we gooo.. 1st - Guardian - Of course, shooting the birds on Guardian. What you need to do is go to the back of Sniper tower, or the top of Sniper tower, look at the Sniper Lift located near blue room. When you see the Sniper Lift look to your left and look in the sky. There are birds there, shoot them... If you are host, the birds blow up.. If the birds do not blow up, you are not host. This can be done in Matchmaking or in a Custom Game. 2nd - The Pit - Okay what you need to do is go to Sword room/blue room and locate the Cameras located in the corners of the the Sword room/blue room. If they follow you, you are host, if they don't then you are not host. This can be done in Matchmaking or in a Custom Game. 3rd - Seeing the map before anyone else - Okay this one is kind of weird but I know for a fact that it works 100%. Me and my friend bridge each other so we know this works. Okay this is how it goes. First you will of course get in a party and have your friend bridge you, or you can just randomly get host without bridging. When it says players found and you can actually see the opposing players GamerTags, look at the bottom left and see if you can see the map. If you can't, ask your friend if he can see it, if he can ask him what it is. IF HE CAN SEE THE MAP BEFORE YOU, he is host. This works best with bridging. Me and my friend use this so we can check to see if either one of us is host. This can be ONLY be done in Matchmaking. 4th - Black Screen - This one is very simple. When it says, Game Starts in 5 seconds, wait till it gets to 0. After it gets to 0 you will go into black screen. When you go into black screen have the person that you bridged host talk, if they're voice is laggy they are host. If you don't know who the host is, have everyone talk, if any one of your 3 party members voice lags, they are host. If they're voice doesn't lag, they are not host. This can be done in Matchmaking or in a Custom Game. 5th - Grenades - Okay, I know people might not believe me with this one but I know it works. When you throw a grenade while you are host it will come out instantly... Try it, start up a Custom Game without ANYONE in it and throw a grenade. There is no delay whatsoever to how fast the grenade comes out, it comes out right when you press the LT. (left trigger) Now, I know what you are thinking, I'm crazy, but really I'm not. Have your friend start a game before you even get in it to make it so that he is host 100%. Now, throw a grenade, WATCH THE GRENADE CAREFULLY, if the host is not good, the grenade will take some time to come out. Now this time isn't 1 minute or 3 seconds. It could be 1/2 a second or 1/4 of a second. My point is that if the grenade comes out instantly then you're host. If it doesn't come out instantly then you are not host. One way to test this is make yourself host and make one of your friends join the game. Start standbying and when the connection is Red Bar ask your friend to throw 2 grenades. Then after he is done you will also throw 2 grenades while STILL ON RED BAR! Then, end the game and ask your friend to upload his clip onto his File Share. Download it. Watch your friends clip FIRST! When he throws a grenade while on Red Bar take note on how LATE it comes out. Then take a look at your film and take note on how your grenades come out instantly. Now ask yourself this. Why, even though you were both on Red Bar, did your grenade come out instantly and his grenade didn't? That's one way. This can be done in Matchmaking or in a Custom Game. 6th - Theater - If it says, "Walshy has the best connection," he is host. This can be done ONLY in Theater. -------------------------------------- PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ADD ANY MORE METHODS OF WHETHER YOU ARE HOST OR NOT! Oh and feel free to try to prove me wrong on these. | 7S Enthusiast | Re: Ways to tell if you're host... I will try and put it into perspective for you. Have you ever played shotty snipers and no matter what you do, every time you try and shotgun a player he always shotguns you first. Well if thats the case, he has host Have you played Griffball and no one on your team can seem to out hammer a player on the opposite team? Well he has host. If both are battle rifle skills are as good as each other and we attempt to out BR each other, if you have host you will win. Its down to the fact you recieve the information on your screen quicker than i do, there for if your moving left and my BR reticule is aimed on your head, but i fire and there missing you, its because your actually just ahead of my aim. But on my screen it seems fine |

This gives you the advantage. By that I mean you don't lag and if you match up against an opponent and have the same reaction time with (lets say a sword or shotgun), then you will be the victor. |
