Halo 2 Lag Out Glitch

Ok so everytime im getting cheated I do the lag out glitch with my friend(s) but it hasnt worked once! Heres what im doing; We select a time say 1 minute 30 seconds, then we unplug our cords in the back of our xboxes until it says re establishing connection, BUT when we do it im in a game by my self and it says *game over* and I end up losing my rank (some times). So what am I doing wrong?

but it does work. How do I know? People have used it on me just 3 weeks ago and I did it about 2 years ago.

Okay, well you play Halo 2 more than me so you would know. If it does work then just use the tutorial that I linked you to and you should be good. That's what worked when me and Pengwin tried it.

Does the lag out glitch have to do with the fact that im host banned is that why I cant do it?
