8 gig dvd is used because the security sector can be burned to one layer and the game to the other layer, also when you create the raw dump the size comes out to be the size of your movie

Also known as a dual layer disk yes? I'm saying you use a 7.5+ gig movie and thats how much of the disk you will copy. Catch my drift?

see the reason you would need a dual layer disk is if you had a hacked drive and you just popped the disk in and started it up, this method wont work that way since its designed only for hotswap. with this way your trying to burn a 7.5+ gig file to a 4.7 gig disk so when you are beginning to burn it you select burn until the end of media. it will burn all of the multiplayer maps and some of the campaign, this is basically a cheap way if you dont want to buy the dual layered disks and your going to hotswap anyways

Until I see a video of someone holding up a normal DVD and swaping it I won't believe it. What if the maps happen to be on the other part of the image that wasn't burned?

theres no chance of that, they burn first. i dont have a vid but i guarantee you it works with a single layer dvd i used them all the time until i quit modding

dvd+r works too, it doesnt matter if you have that drive if your hotswaping

Hey H3 your answering more questions than me on my own tutorial. lol. And also it took you 6 hours that's a hell of a lot of time for a raw dump it only takes me like 20 minutes.

For one Grunt why do you think i ripped this? For two I don't know is H3 explained to you that the movie just tricks your dvd drive to rip halo 2 because it won't allow you to rip halo 2 because of security purposes.

ohh yea and my iso buster gives me the error right away it doesnt give it to me a 7% it gives it to me at 0??

Well idk about that problem at 0% But you can hotswap whenever you want after that white bungie sign comes up in the beginning.

oh ok... but i still need help fixing the 0% prob cuz i put in the 7.92 gb disc i click save as user data then i take out the movie and put in halo 2 click save and it gives me the error right away??
