i just started trying to mod, but i was using ur tut and i could not get into global\globals, it just keeps freezing. do u hav any suggestions?

The matg/globals/globals tag is the largest one in each map, and as a result takes a LONG TIME to load. Mine has varied from taking around 15 seconds to taking upwards of 2 minutes. If you are using dothalo, just check to see if the bar on the bottom is moving to make sure it didn't actually freeze.

Alright i have the modding tool downloaded and i was just wondering why do i need that because its not explained in the tutoral.

You need it cuz it has all the tools you need w/ all the plugins you will need. Unlike the seperate downloads most ppl get.

If you have a chip for your xbox and you turn it off will you get the original maps or will the maps still be modded if you try to go on live?

maps will still be modded. Its just like if you replaced a word document called "doc" with another UPDATED one called "doc" and you restart your computer...you will STILL have the updated one. You are only replaces files...tahts all modded maps are.

Ok, let's try to answer everyone's questions:
rif: Yes, you can get on xbl w/ your modded maps BUT you will be perminantely banned from mm (matchmaking). If you dont know much about the mainmenu.map (meaning you just started modding) dont worry about it quite yet. If you ahve the whole game on your hdd (which means you need a bigger hdd and then that means NO XBL!) then you will need to edit it. But, I wouldnt worry about it.

Fish: I think that it should work. If it doesnt, then I'll have ot remove the one on the site and replace it w/ the cracked one I have.

Sorta...but you wont be able to go on live and not get banned if thats what you are trying to get at. If you just want to have originals and modded on your hdd, then yes, you can edit it to do that, but there are other things you have to do and move around... Like you can have the update and edit the mainmenu.map. We have a tutorial I think around here somewhere. Try to find it and take a look at it.
