Bridging with Windows Vista-FAQ (Updated 3/30)

BRIDGING WITH WINDOWS VISTA *FAQ*

Here are some frequently asked questions about bridging with Windows Vista

Q: Can I bridge with Windows Vista?
A: Yes, you can. However you have to set up ICS or a bridge. Follow the ICS portion of this tutorial: http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/brid...e-onecare.html
You can also set up a bridge the same way you would in XP.

Q: What programs can I use?
A: ZoneAlarm currently has a Vista beta open. You can use Commivew 5.4 to capture IPs.

UPDATE!!!! There is a ZoneAlarm beta for Vista that can be used for bridging. Here is the link: Check Point ZoneAlarm: Open Beta Program
It says antivirus but it also has a firewall identical to the older versions of ZA

Q: Where can I find the programs to bridge with Vista?
A: http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/bridging-programs/

Q: Will there ever be a Vista-compatible clean-install version of Zone Alarm?
A: ZoneLabs has released a Vista-compatible beta:
Beta link: Check Point ZoneAlarm: Open Beta Program

Q: When will the Vista-compatible ZoneAlarm firewall be released?
A: No date has been announced yet. Here is a link to a site that will notify you when it comes out. There is a beta also:
Check Point ZoneAlarm - Home/Office Products
Beta link: Check Point ZoneAlarm: Open Beta Program

Q: I have ZoneAlarm installed, along with Windows Live OneCare. I cannot connect to Xbox Live using ICS. What's wrong?
A: You need to enable ICS in OneCare. Read this tutorial: http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/brid...e-onecare.html

I will tell you though.....even though I've gotten ZA to work with Vista, it is a pain in the ***. Sometimes it just doesn't want to work

What do you mean? As long as it works, I don't care... wait. I have ZAP as my main firewall, are you saying you have a problem with that?

no, it's just buggy. you can use it, but after it gives you those gay compatibility errors after a while it gets annoying

Sorry, I was paying attention to my teacher, and not really to the FAQ. BUt that is good, but it prolly won't be out for a while, and then longer for the cracks and keygens...
