can u take like a old map like lockout change the name 2 turf,mod it,and switch it with the real turf map so u can play modded lockout ??

You will need a program called map converter pro to that, i'll get a link. To use it mod an old map then convert it, resign it, rename it to what ever map you converted it to then replace the map the new map with your modded one (i.e you convert lockout to turf so overwrite turf on your hdd with the one you converted and renamed).

Renaming the file will only work for new to old conversions unless it has something to do with the update.

A ppf is a type of patch used for applying mods to a clean halo 2 map. It basically takes the tags and saves them to a file (.ppf file) and then overwrites the tags from a clean map (one thats never been modded) with the tags that were saved into the ppf file. I'll give you an example of how it can be used, say i make a mod and want to give it to you, i used this program to take all the modded parts of the map and shrink them into a smaller file. Then all you have to do is use the same program to put the modded parts of my map into your clean non modded map. There are also different types of patches like sppf and serenity, they do the same thing but are faster and take more info with them.
