Since I began playing Halo 2 (which is many (!) years ago), I've always wanted to personnalize the maps, guns, vehicules and many other features of the game. Later, I learned it was possible with modding...even though it was considered as illegal and punished by a banishment from XboxLive. Recently, I've seen on youtube some people having over 48 maps on their harddrive...awesome maps sometimes better than the original ones. So, I wanted to know if it was possible to have those maps on my Xbox 360 harddrive and being able to play with them, without voiding my guarantee by opening anything on my brand new 570$CAD machine, or anything related to modchips or add-ons we have to fix on the console. I noticed a USB port beside the Ethernet plug...can we use this to access files in 360's harddrive with Xplorer360 installed on my PC? Please, I'm ready to buy any software that would allow me to have new Halo 2 maps to play on...the only thing I ABSOLUTELY want to avoid, is installing modchips or modifying of all possible ways the console. Open to all options, counting on you! (English is my third language, sorry for mistakes.)

You can also mod old maps, but not online. You basicly have to reformat a new map as an old one (so overwriting a new map with an old one BUT with the new maps name, and picture....there is a program that can do that in a few seconds). This voids the warrenty though...but how would they know you had it if you took it off? hope I helped!

Apparently, you have to litterally open your console (with screwdrivers and everything) and then connect your PC directly to the "naked" harddrive with a very expansive special wire. Hmmm...I don't trust my hands.

And if you dont want the XSATA on your xbox any more, just remove it. In order to void your warranty you have to open the xbox. The XSATA will not void your warranty.

Just like softmodding voids your warranty for the original xbox. Last edited by Dem Pyros; 04-13-2007 at 08:38 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

But maybe im wrong. Oh Well i think that its dumb that that would void the warranty. Last edited by Bac0n; 04-13-2007 at 08:41 PM.
