| Skinning PHOTOgraphs onto a map! okay people this si quite easy to do and shouldnt take long to explain. so you got your adobe photoshop CS2 and your saying to yourself, What could i do thatd be most excelent to a map now?. well folks thats where i come in. its really quite easy and ill show you how! open up dothalo, bitmap tag, and choose what you want the photograph on! for instance, ill be using scenarios\skies\multi\zanzibar\bitmaps\sky_dome on relic... now go to ur raw data editor and extract the bitmap of whatever your gona be using. now hold that thought and go into photoshop open up whatever photo youre going to use. it could be off of a digital camera or off the internet. for instance, ill be using The_mexican_superman.jpg if anyones heard of it... open up ur photo now go to edit--define pattern-- if done correctly (which if you did incorrectly, i suggest you throw your computer out the window) you should see a little box come up that says pattern name. name the image (soon to be pattern) whatever you want! now go to file--open and open up your sky_dome or whatevr you extracted from your map. once opened, square off the extracted file with the rectangular marquee tool. now right click the box and select fill... once opend... check out the box that inside it says use: and then a drop down bar. drop down the bar and select pattern which you would find around the middle of the drop down. now the CUSTOM PATTERN choice will have opend up below that drop down. click on the drop down arrow beside custom pattern and at the bottom should be the image you made earlier! select that then OK and presto chango you have that image in the box without resize. now you can use that image pattern for anything you choose. now just inject the bitmap and enjoy your new human brewed image on the map! tut written by scuba

| What I like to do is open up whatever [bitm] you want to change, be it the sky, ground, or anything else. Then I'll create a new layer on top of that and paste whatever picture is wanted into that layer. You can then change the opacity to allow the old map to be seen (recommended) and mix it up until it's how you like. | ||||||
