Trail of Flames behind your rocket.

Ok. I have had a few people asking me to make a tutorial on how to make a trail of fire behind a rocket. So here it is.

Things you will need.
1.Dot Halo
2.A map
3.Basic modding knowledge.

How to add fire to your rocket.
1.Open your map in Dot Halo.
2.Go to the [proj]Projectile
3.Go down until you see this...

objects\weapons\support_high\rocket_launcher\proje ctile\rocket

4.Click on it.
5.Go to the dependancies tab.
6.Right click this...

effe-effects\objects\weapons\support_high\rocket_launch er\rocket_exhaust

7.Selects "Goto Tag"
8.Go to the dependencies tab.
9.Edit everything to look like this...

prt3-effects\generic\flares\ring
prt3-effects\objects\weapons\melee\energy_blade\glow_bl ade
prt3-effects\generic\fires\fire
prt3-effects\generic\flares\burst
pmov-effects\particle_physics\sparks

10.You are done with the first part. Now go back to the [proj]projectile tab
11.Click on the rocket again.
12.Go to the dependancies tab again.
13.Right click this...

effe-effects\impact\explosion_large\rocket_launcher\roc ket_detonation

14.Select "Goto Tab"
15.Go to the dependencies tab.
16 edit everything to look like this.

lens-effects\objects\weapons\support_high\rocket_launch er\rocket_detonation
ligh-effects\objects\weapons\support_high\rocket_launch er\rocket_explosion
deca-effects\decals\bullet_holes\rocket_blast_glow
prt3-effects\generic\flares\ring
prt3-effects\generic\sparks\sparks_trail
prt3-effects\generic\flares\ring
prt3-effects\generic\solids\water_ripple
pmov-effects\particle_physics\sparks
pmov-effects\particle_physics\explosion
pmov-effects\particle_physics\sparks
prt3-effects\generic\flares\ring
pmov-effects\particle_physics\sparks

17.Save Changes, Fix encryption, FTP, and ENJOY!

looks alright.

but dot halo isnt the best of programs but i guess it gets the job done.

While I agree with you, you need to learn not everyone has had nearly as much experience as what you are used to.

Very good start for people who want to make their own devastating weapons instead of power projectile swapping.

Try changing the two generic/flares/rings to another fire related [prt3]

Thats how I have mine set up, and it makes fire. did you do something wrong?

He did do something wrong. He fixed it, and now it makes fire. SerpantSlayer, post a pic of the trail of fire please.
