(TUT)Paint.Net skinning

[Professional Gun]

First off Paint.Net is FREE and is much better than MSPaint but is not better than Photoshop.

Things Needed:
1.A modded Xbox

Programs Needed:
1.Paint.Net Paint.NET Paint.NET - Reviews and free Paint.NET downloads at Download.com

2.Paint.Net DDS plugin DdsFileType.rar - FileFront.com

3.Dothalo

4.A map resigner

5.A FTP Program

6.H2 Bitmap Internaliser(Found in aio v2)

7.DXTBMP http://files.filefront.com/dxtbmpxra.../fileinfo.html

1.Open your map in dothalo

2.Scroll down to BITM and select something you would like to skin.(For this TUT I am using The banner from coagulation.)


3.Now extract it and save it to somewhere you can remember.


4.Now install DXTBMP if you haven't already.

5.Now install Paint.Net

6.Now unzip the DDS plugin.

7.Click on Start on your taskbar click my computer select your C: drive click on Program Files and go into Paint.Net click on file types and put the DDS plugin in there.

8.Now open up DXTBMP and open up the DDS that you saved from dothalo.


9.Now at the top click on Prefs and select editor and select Paint.NET under C: Program files.

10.Now select Image and click on send to editor.

11.Paint.Net should come up and. With common sense you can edit the DDS to the full extant if you click on effects there are some cool things in there.


12.When you are done click on file and click on save.

13.Close Paint.Net and in DXTBMP click on image and reload after edit.

14.Now the image you edited will show then click on file save as... and now where it says "save as type" thats where you select the DXT it is from dothalo.

15.Now open up H2Bitmapinternaliser.(YOU HAVE TO CLOSE ALL PROGRAMS OTHERWISE THE SKIN WILL BE SCREWED UP).

16.Open up your map and scroll down to whatever you have selected to skin and click on it and in the dropdown box select 1 and click on internalize.


17.Open up dothalo and inject your DDS.

18.Save changes fix encrytion.

19.Resign your map and FTP it over and you now have a skined map.

Just put it in your effects folder under Paint.net.

I did just join but I had another account before this one. I had recently got a new computer so i had to change email addresses stupid AOL and so that email was no longer valid so I created a new account on s7 and with my new email address. But I did not post anything on that account.

what does "dow" mean?

try clearing your xbox's cache. and did you internalise the bitmap?
