OK i was trying to sound mod and all the tutorials wouldnt teach me a couple of things which sucks.....
Requirments

OK first download the xbox codec the one i gave you a link for and extract it and open install it by right clicking the XBADPCMinst and press isntall
Once u install that go to halo2st and open up the map you want to get sounds from to edit i am using lockout..........
than go to what u want to edit find it on the list i am using the battle rifle.....and you may have to click the internalize button and give it what ever it asks for...most likely sp shared or shared..
now that u have interlized it there wi be a inject/extract button... extract ur sound... and than open it up and see how long it/they are....most of the time the music files come in 2-4 audio files.. i have four and the times are....

so now i have 13 seconds to put my own sounds in it so open up the sounds you want for your map in mixcraft or windows movie maker.. make them the same time as all of your sounds that you extracted from the map it does not have to be EXACTLY the same. so make em 3sec,3sec,4sec, and 3 seconds.........and when u save them make sure they are in a .wav format...ok once u do that open the sounds you edited in sound recorder

Once u do that go up to file than click save as
once u do that there is a "change " on bottom click that
ok now there will be a drop down bar next to Format: drop it down to Xbox ADPCM
once you do that press "save" than press "save" again and you can make another folder for your edited sounds if you would like...ok now you have edited sound in xbox adpcm format!! now all you have to do is inject them into your map now.....
go back to Halo2ST and inject the sounds from where you edited them from.....and there will be a place to chose which number to inject it into like 1,2,3, or 4...now inject them into the map and you ahve made custom sounds for the part of the map!!!!!Be sure to Click the "thanks" button if this helped you =P...!
