| how to use milkshape for halo 2 well this is going to be a tut on how to use milkshape and some of its controls to make some models. i wrote this because i myself was confused when i started with milkshape and i dont want other people to get confused by the program. I will be using my paintball gun model i made as an example. what you will need - milkshape (download at the bottom of page) - an ability to read - a halo 2 model (follow the tut below this pic to learn how) finished product: ![]() ![]() ok so first your going to want extract your model from your map use this tut: http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/adva...-modeling.html once you have imported your model into milkshape we can begin. the hopper so first we will be making the hopper for the paintball gun on your right hand side is a list of tools. ![]() select sphere then go to one of the 3 boxes and make it around this size ![]() now go back to the side bar and click the select option down below it make the options like this ![]() select these vertices ![]() then drag them to the right (or away from the sphere depending on the side) until u think it looks like the right size for a hopper. now go back to the tools and go to select and in the options click group and then click on the hopper. from there in the tools select move and set it aside for now. now in the sidebar select box and make just about as wide as the black rectangle i made around the sphere^ then drag it to about the length of the sphere. go back to select and vertex in option and select different vertexes then using move to place them in a rectangle shape (u will probably need to use all the different screens to make it good. once ur finished up with that go to select>group and place in the hopper we made and make it stick out so it can go in the magnum just as well. now select both the hopper and tube as a group and move them onto the magnum. ![]() now thats done lets do something easy (sorta) the tube and co2 can ok to start off you will need to make some room for it so go to select>vertex and select these vertexes and delete them before ![]() after ![]() now select in the sidebar cylinder (my fav tool) now your going to need to make 2 cylinders (possibly 3) here are the sizes i made mine. use the rotate tool in the sidebar to well rotate them to the correct angles. ![]() now in the bottom left screen set the sidebar to select>vertex then select these vertexes and move them to here (do each one by its self not together) ![]() now repeat this step in the screen above, now you have made the can now to move on to the tube select these vertexes to start ![]() in the sidebar go to rotate and rotate them 90 degrees, once done use the move tool to move it to the side a lil bit. repeat this until it looks about like this (for every next set of vertexes dont rotate them 90 degrees make it so the cylinder is curving) ![]() now select the can with select>group and move it onto the end of the tube. now select both tube and can as a group and place them about here on the magnum. ![]() now if u have noticed it doesn't look exactly like the one i made in my first pic its fine it looks like this because i just remade it again. the barrel our last and final section to finish up its probably the easiest. to start off go to the box tool in the sidebar then make a box about 1 1/2 the length of the magnum. ![]() now using select>vertex in the other screens make it about the width of the barrel. once that is done in the bottom right screen select the one of the farthest away vertex from the gun (in the pic above it would be the top right or bottom right vertexes) move them closer together do this to both of the vertexes. now select the box with select>group and move it onto the gun yay your done! ![]() exporting and injecting your model to put it back into your map just follow http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/subm...ls-entity.html (specifically made for injections) or the rest of that tutorial listed above i hope this tut will give you a feel for the controls in milkshape i havent gone over them all but this should let you get started with modeling. credits: xxII FEAR IIxx - for the tut on how to export and import models and other things the creator of milkshape DOWNLOAD: (for milkshape) http://chumbalum.swissquake.ch/files/ms3d181b.zip Last edited by r3dneck; 09-12-2007 at 08:05 PM. | ||||||

| use spell checker next time please. ill go out on a limb here and guess here, if you used dark matter to export your model it could have messed up just use entity: 1. go to the mode tag 2. find your model, click it 3. click the blue cross thingy on the top 4. click export meshes> to .obj 5. select your location to put it and u just exported it. | ||||||
