Easy Way To Make Your Own Racetrack

Ok this is easy to setup
  1. open up containment in dothalo
  2. go to the weapons tag and select the rocket launcher now go to the dependecies tag and select the proj option (it should end with the word rocket or something close to that) first chnge the tag class (in the dependencies window) to mach and select base gate then click save changes
  3. now go to plasma pistol and open up its dependencies and cclick on the proj - overcharge pistol shot or something lik that and first chnge the proj to vehi and then select warthog then save changes and close up dothalo
  4. (now i asume u want ur rocket to hav unlimited ammo righ then jus go to the tut i made http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/halo...auto-fire.html it also tells u how to make auto fire but for this u dont need that for this)
  5. now jus resign, ftp, and play
now this way easy to make but actually making the track (which u do in game) is hard and take awhile but it can be alot of fun

woah wait, sorrow, r you saying that racetracks are made by having rocket launchers shoot out parts of the tracks and you make them fit cause that is totaly wrong.(correct me if this was not your purpose sorrow). Because the ramps dont come out level in the guns and may have to be tilted which is what Entity BSP viewer is for and as Zone says

hmm so can't i use dark matter alpha v1.1 to kinda like play the map on my computer because that is what my friend told me it was for thnx again i just learned to use dot halo because of this lol im a new guy at modding xD

and btw u can just set all projectile settings for the rocks in dot halo to 10000 no more no less and thats alot of ammo so it should be enough

Nice one... Although it's not the correct way to make a racetrack, it certainly does make for some interesting racetracks...

You can't save the racetrack when you create it this way since it's being made while you're playing the game and that's kind of the point too... You just have to redo your racetrack everytime you play if you use this method, otherwise you need to actually make the racetrack on your computer (using one of the conveniently placed tuts found on se7ensins, YAY!)...

No... That's not what it does... All this does is spawns the BASEGATE via: Rocket Launcher which gives you the "checkpoints" for where you need to drive through... This doesn't spawn any platforms or anything like that to drive on... It's really just a simple way to allow you to walk around on the map and go "hey, I think a checkpoint should go right here"... Zone prefers to use Entity, nothing is wrong with using Dothalo, it's just that Entity takes the place of several other programs by giving you more options... I mix it up and use different programs based on what I'm doing... Find your own preference... (and no I'm not flaming Zone)^_^

There is something wrong with using dothalo because it adds the mods to the back of the map which isnt as how "bungie" would do it and it corrupts the map if trying to open in other modding program like UberVisibleProjectiles, Weather tool, adding water etc. All those more advance modding programs. thats why entity is best. Plus, BSP Viewer =)

ok... seriously, bungie wouldn't use Entitiy to MODD a map in the first place... They'd build a new one from the ground up, so don't compare anything we do here while MODDING to something bungie does for a living... All I was saying is that it's not illegal to use Dothalo, nor will you die if you use it... It's a MODDING program, so who really cares if it doesn't do it like it "should", in all seriousness, there are a LOT of people who think we shouldn't be able to do this in the first place... So lay off of Dothalo, at one point it was considered to be one of the best editing programs out there, just as entity is now (and eventually something else will)... Besides, if you know Entity Oh-So well, then you know how to convert this tut from dothalo to entity (anybody with basic Entity knowlegde does), so where's the problem???


Now, back on topic... First of all, this thread is a year old... Second, we all know it's not the right way to make a racetrack, it wasn't intended to be... Third, don't knock it 'till you try it (everything's worth a shot)...
