Halo PC Tut #2 --- Running Fast

In this lesson we will be learning how to make MC run fast for Halo PC. First off make shure you've download HMT v3.5 with the 64 pluggins from my modding toolkit.

Here's the link if you haven't done so already.

Step 1: Open up HMT.


Step 2: Navigate to the map you want to do this on by going to File> Open> and then wherever you saved the game to and then into the maps folder then hit Open, I picked sidewinder.


Step 3: In the Resource Browser go to the [malg] tag and open it, you should see one tag below it.


Step 4: Open up that tag which is called globals\globals.


Step 5: In the Tag Editor scroll down to the "Player Information" section and click on the drop down box right beside that and select "0".


Step 6: You should now see a bunch of numbers in all the box's for that section.


Step 7: This is something that might pop up when you change the numbers but when it does just hit the "OK" button and ignore it.


Step 8: Let's change those numbers around to modify your running and crouching speed. The ones you'll want to change are "Run Forward, Run Backwards, Run Sideways, Run Acceleration, Sneak Forward, Sneak Backwards, Sneak Sideways, and Sneak Acceleration". As you probably guessed "sneak" meens crouch and the reason I changed those aswell is so you can still navigate around the map without going all over the place. You should use the setting I used below but you can change them around if you want to.


Step 9: All that's left to do now is in the top left box hit the button titled "Save" and then the "Close Map File" button in the bottom left corner and your done!


Have fun running fast, it takes awhile to get used to becuase you'll slide around if you hit any walls or objects. In the next tutorial we'll be learning how to be invincible!
