Halo PC modding kit

This kit includes the following programs to get you started with modding Halo PC/CE.

Halo PC basic modding kit

HMT v3.5 with the 64 plugins installed
HHT v5
SparkEdit
PPF-O-MATIC
HexWorkshop

The dds plugin for photoshop so you can make you own skins etc.
a back file of all the HMT pluggins incase you loose them.

I also included some notes if you don't know where to put the dds plugin.

I haven't got the XYZ plugin for HMT so you won't be able to move where your projectiles start from, and finally. If you want to record your mods use the program called "Fraps", just google it if your unsure where to get it from (torrents if you want the full version). If your having problems installing everything chances are you didn't extract ALL of the files for that certain program into the same folder.

*** All of the programs are pretty straight forward for navigating exept for sparkedit, you might not know how to move the camera around properly so... once you've opened a map (file > open cached file) you're gonna wanna move the camera around. here's a quick run through:

W -move the camera forward
S -move the camera backwards
A -move the camera to the left
D -move the camera to the right

Shift -move the camera down
Space -move the camera up

Left mouse -select an object
Left mouse(hold) + ctrl -move an object up or down.
Right mouse (click and hold, double click will allow to not hold so you can move around easier but you will have to double unclick to get out of this mode) -move the view around

Here's how to do something basic:

open up bloodgulch and navigate to blue base. On the right side of sparkedit you'll see a tab titled "edit", click the drop down menu for mode and select scenery, you may have noticed that all the rocks and trees now have red boxes around them. Along the top click on the little yellow box with a arrow pointing to it (select mode) and then click on one of the rocks or trees infront of the base. Press ctrl+c to make a copy of the object. now click on the little hand that was beside the select mode button, this ones called transalate mode. you can now move your newly created object around to wherever you want, but wait WTF why can't I move it up or down you may be asking? To do this you will need to hold down ctrl and hold down your left mouse button to move the obect up or down. Move your rock/tree or whatever it is onto the top of the base. Hit file > save and your done. Now go check your mod out in the game (I put a tree ontop of blue base :p).

A final note: It's best to keep Halo PC/CE closed while making mods, and you cant have 2 modding programs open at the same time ie. bloodgluch is open in sparkedit but when you try to go and open bloodgulch in HMT it won't let you until you close the map file in sparkedit.

haha Sparkedit and HMT were the only programs I used....b/c you could make so much fun **** with the both of them. I would insert hogs, banshee's, and turrets to HEH, ratrace, and beavercreek (well not the banchees for those last 2 maps). I had the best time modding PC maps...best time.

i need help idk whats wrong but i clicked that then went to hmt 3.5 and downloaded it i saved and everything then i clicked open but nothing happened then i looked and thers a shortcut for it then i clicked that and it wont open...help me!plz

Yea maybe, or did you make a folder on the desktop or wherever you want and then put all the files from the download into it? i'll be making an AIO today for Halo PC...
