From what I heard you can download the Zone Alarm Firewall which is free and you can use that to bridge.

Yes, you can bridge with a Router and do it for free. The two programs that you need can both be obtained legally for free. They are Cain and Abel and Zone Alarm.

I was wondering if I could do it without a router, since I don't have access to one at school. could you link me to the free versions of these programs? I'm getting entirely tired of the garbage connections out there.

also, does bridging host cause lag for everyone more so than if you were gifted with host from the gods?

OK, bridge is a term that applied to giving two connection on a pc the same internet source.

So you dont need a router just internet to your pc, that has two wired internet ports in back, or wireless and one internet(which i never could get to work).

Plug internet into one, then xbox into the other, then bridge the connection in windows under network connections.

Use Zonalaram Firewall basic for free, then commview(30 day trial, but I actually bought a copy because i think ti the best) or cain and abel to get your friends ips.

I think I just might make a video on this, seems to be a hot topic.

Well, I only have one port on my laptop, would I have to get a router to bridge? that's kinda lame. but oh well.

If you can access the internet wirelessly with your laptop you can bridge. The only wired connection you need is from your laptop to your xbox.

Don't need an IP sniffer, if you clear your alerts and logs section in ZA and then rapidly switch the slider from high to medium you'll get all the IPs your connected to e.g. your friends in your XBL party or game party in the alerts and logs section. Don't know if this is in the free version.

Since it's a part of the firewall you can do it in the free version. The free version doesn't have anti-spyware/virus or browser security.
