Re: The Best Bridging Tutorial

Hey guys... I need help. I believe I have the setup right because I did this before and am no dummy when it comes to computers.

Here is my setup:
-360 is connected to my second network port on the back of my computer via a crossover cable.
-Main network port is connected to Netgear router which is connected to my modem via a regular ethernet cable.
-I have Zone alarm pro and commview running on Windows XP.
-Entered the ip ranges and ips correctly and trusted them.
-Bridged the ports successfully as well.

So what is wrong?! It worked beautifully twice and then went to crap. I had it on high and it actually gave me ten seconds so I can slide it down to connect to game. Now though it will just connect even though the slider is on high. Ive tried the first tut about putting stuff in expert and it worked then started not to. This tut worked and now same thing is happening. Please any advice would be awesome. I have been at this thing for a while and sick and tired of being cheated or connecting to laggy connections based off of poor networking code that the unreal engine provides. Thanks and have a good weekend!

Re: The Best Bridging Tutorial

lol what?! This smilely face reminds me of the fifth rank lol. That will probably explain it though. So how do you think it still connected to games with other ppl host while it still being on high? Shouldn't it not even let me connect? Just curious and trying to fully understand how everything works. What is the other ip though.

Re: The Best Bridging Tutorial

You know, I'm not entirely sure, this IP has something to do with something lol, all I know is that when I didn't have it, my FIREWALL could be on HIGH and I wouldn't lag out but wouldn't get host lol

It is this IP RANGE

206.16.213.20-206.16.213.255

Re: The Best Bridging Tutorial

Yes, you do it the same exact way, but instead of doing it with four friends, you do it with one, now, for some reason, I can't even play WINGMAN anymore. I am fairly certain that they actually host banned me (Shakes fist at EPIC) I have to rank up in ELIMINATION, which takes 100x longer

Re: The Best Bridging Tutorial

Can't you then bridge host to a friend and play?? Either that or renew your ip address and try that. I do not think they can do that in just a specific game type. Also, if i were to play with my brother and he runs on my network then I would not need to add him as a trusted and I should be able to get host because my network is trusted. I would only need to get my friend's ips using commview which is a lot easier that that alerts and log thing. I recommend that you put that in your tut because you say download it but do not say for what reason.
