| 7S Enthusiast | IMPORTANT EVERY TIME YOU PLAY ONE MATCH, YOU MUST GO MAKE A NEW PARTY THEN PUT YOUR TOP FIREWALL SLIDER ON HIGH, AND THEN INVITE YOUR FRIENDS. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THEIR IP's. Bridging Yourself Host UPDATE LOG: 1. Standby is no longer required, was never required. 2. Changing around the guide, making it easier. 3. Parts in Part 2 have been erased. 4. New Note in the Notes section added. 5. Important quote from brainfreeze in the note section. Notes: 1. When trying to bridge in Elimination or another playlist. Make sure start a game by yourself and then put the top firewall slider on high. Then invite your friends, you must have a full party. Once they are in, and you have their IP's on Trusted. Then start the game, and wait till the checkboxes get checked except for the last one. Then put the firewall slider on medium. This should make it so you can connect to a match. Now your host. 2. When finding IP's in Commview, make sure your Network is set to your bridging. For example. Instead of "Intel Pro Network Connection" Change it to "MAC Bridge Miniport". It may be different for some of you. 3. Anyone who is trying this and something seems to be wrong, it seems he forgot one crucial step in his tut. You need to add an IP Range for your trusted zone, with the following IP's: 206.13.213.20 - 206.13.213.255. Add these in your zone alarm pro, and I guarantee you that you will see the results you want ![]() REMEMBER: DON'T PUT YOUR FIREWALL TOP SLIDER ON HIGH, UNTIL YOU GET ALL YOUR FRIENDS IP's. I can help you with this if you like. Requirements: Gears of War 2 Network setup(bridged) ZoneAlarm Pro and some patience... Optional: Commview Credits: Me: I made this tutorial and I hope you guys get it to work. Rep please. Part 1 Firstly, open up ZoneAlarm Pro. Go here if you do not have it yet. http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm-Pro/3000-10435_4-10061193.html Grab Commview(program) if you want to find peoples IP's to boot them. CommView Download Once ZoneAlarm Pro(ZAP) is open. Go to Firewall>Zones. Where you see your LAN networks or "New Network". Change the Zone on the part to Internet. Now go to IP Chicken - Whats my IP address? ip address lookup, find your IP. Go to ZAP, click Add>IP Address. Type in your IP, and for the description put My IP. Make sure you put the Zone on Trusted. These are the IP's that you have to enter below... I'm not sure if these are required, but I really don't want to delete them, since it works. Code:
Once those are added, make the Zone on all of them to Trusted, then click Apply. Not so important, if you did everything right and nothing seems to work, try this. Go to Firewall>Expert. Go to Add, then make the name "SelfBridge". Where it says Source. Click on Modify>IP Address. Type in your IP address, and name it "My IP". On the right there is... Destination. Click on Modify>Trusted Zone. Click Modify again. Modify>IP Address. For the IP type in (206.16.213.20) and name it Gears of War 2. After this is done, click OK. Then Apply. Part 2 For this tutorial, you are going to be host everygame on Wingman, and any other mode *new*. Host a game on Gears of War 2, by yourself. Then go to ZAP. Firewall>Main. Put the Internet Zone Security to High, and Trusted Zone Security to Medium. Invite a friend if you want, I find that it works better with a teammate. If you do decide to invite a friend, get their IP address, and put them on Trusted. *This will not make your friend host.* Start the game when your ready, and when the second checkbox gets checked then wait about 10 seconds. Go to ZAP, and change the top bar to Medium. This should make it so you can connect to a match. Another gears of war loading screen... OPTIONAL: Once you can see the scoreboard while in the game. The 10 second countdown before a match begins. Then press standby, and look at the timer at the top right. If it continues to go down... then your host. If it freezes at a number then your not host, and you did something wrong. This is easier than it sounds, and it works 100%. Haven't messed up yet. If you continue to have problems. I will try to fix up my guide to see if it has any errors in it, or just respond back to this thread. FAQ DELETED. Last edited by adahalo; 11-05-2009 at 12:47 PM. Reason: ? |

| 7S Enthusiast | Re: Bridge yourself host 100% working I'm using ZoneAlarm Pro, the new one. And there is no stop button. I'm using a standby modem to do it, and if you STILL can't get it to work. Join my game, or leave your gamertag, and I'll add you guys, and try to explain it there. EDIT: I never said anything about a STOP button, some other guy did. There used to be a STOP button in one of the older versions of ZoneAlarm, im sure, unless you have to buy it. Last edited by adahalo; 11-15-2008 at 02:49 PM. |
