My Sniping Strategies

This is a miniature guide explaining my strategies of getting headshots on Gears of War. Every example is in Gridlock.

At all times when host or not, try getting used to centering the screen so that when enemies are near by it will apeal easier to you when trying to get head shots. Benefits of centering your screen are that when people roll towards you all you have to do is hold LT (left trigger) and wait for them to finnish the roll then shoot, thinking literally, the enemies are just rolling in to the shot, just remember when not the host shoot about half a second before you usually would when host.

When the enemy is a quite few metres away for (eg.the length from the Boomshot to the left or right sniper steps in Gridlock) just simply hold the crossair to the left or right of the enemies head, slide it across the head and shoot. I do this because when the crosshair turns red over an enemy, when you move it, it moves slower than when not red. You may notice that some of the famous snipers do this, for example Nizmojoe (I think) and Doubleblood.

When the enemy is a long distance away and running just simply wait for them to sprint into it and shoot just before they reach the crosshair, then it will be likely to hit them in the bald spot.

I first became good (not to rightfully judge my self) with the sniper rifle by rushing, (that's where I got the idea of moving it across peoples head from) then sometimes I had my screen centered with out knowing, a few people rolled and them few people stood up to find they had no head.

Either way, they're only one persons strategies to behead people, if I could I would record videos although I can't until I get a laptop, then I'll by a Dazzle platinum and all the other bits needed to record a video, that would make it easier for you to understand the tutorials yet it would be more time taking for me.

Good strats, im ranked #42 in the world on execution and when I got snipe I never zoom, I am a naturally amazing sniper at gears regardless if im host.

I love when someone catches me off guard up close with shotgun, they think they got me then there head gets no scoped off the first shot

Yeh thanks for the help especially since I dont play it as much anymore and is hard to get the hang of again and to the standard that I was before.

If you watch one of nismojoes vids, one of them proves that it takes more skill to scope than to noscpe, kinda odd but true.

i've been playing gears of war for 3 weeks. today i got the sniper on gridlock, killed one guy roadie running sideways, killed another while he was still rolling(i got a lucky shot while his head was under) and a blindfire headshot. Your tips actually work!
