Is 1x or 2x writing speed ok?

I burnt a game recently using IMGBurn, and it freezes before it gets to the main menu. I have never burnt a coaster before and my question is would it be good to try and burn it at 1x or 2x writing speed (instead of 2.4x). Maybe this game is just picky.
