I have a question i just got an new xbox360 like amonth ago but i have an old that got RROD but it has a BenQ drive and my new one has a lite-on if i flash my BenQ could i switch out my BenQ into my Lite-on xbox?

I sent you a PM response. You can try to stave off the ban by only playing proper retail fully stealthed rips, but no, no way to 100% prevent a ban

If you spoof the BenQ as a Lite-On using the key from your Lite-On... Might as well just flash the Lite-On

Hi, I am having a problem with a recent flash of my benq drive. I have sucessfully flashed this drive 3 or 4 times starting with ixtreme 1.4 all the way to 1.6. I tried now to flash it with 1.61 using jungleflasher and my bia card with sata connection as I usually do. Jungle flasher syas that it writes ok and then verifies the flash but the drive will not recognize that there is a disc inside (even and original game). I have tried reflashing with other ixtremes that I know are legit (i.e. 1.51) but no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ok, does your drive read DVD's? If it does you did not spoof your DVD Key over to the new firmware.

If it does not read DVD's either than its a problem with the drives laser dying.

nevermind I figured out my problem. Turns out that the flash was working right it was a bum sata cord fronm the drive to the 360 motherboard. Changed it out and eveything's fine. Could of saved myself a few hours of frustration!

Hello everyone. I'm new, but have been browsing the forums for a while now. Anyway:

I've been trying to flash my 360 but no avail. Maybe somebody could help me out. Here's what I've done so far:

I have the VIA 6421 PCI card with the 360 drive plugged into the #1 sata port.
I have the USB boot disk made and it boots. I get to the part where it prompts you to press "Y" to continually resend the command. I press "Y".

I've tried many port numbers, and I think I have the working one. It's the only port that does anything.

Here, the status continually flickers between 0xD2 and 0x52 when the 360 is powered on. I have power-cycled the 360 box close to 40-50 times now. I never make it to where it reads the banks.

Since that didn't work, I tried the Jungleflasher method here (How to Flash a BenQ Xbox 360 using Jungleflasher). I tried all 4 ports listed on the VIA card and a it continually says device not found.

Since that didn't work, I tried AzzidReign's tutorial here (How to Firmware Mod your Xbox 360 using Windows 7 64-bit). When I opened DosFlash64 I get the same issue in the status bar where the status code just flickers back and forth when the xbox is on.

FYI: I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 if that matters. After trying all this, I can still play regular games on my xbox, so I don't believe that my 360 is the issue.

Does anyone have any advice, or has anyone else encountered this issue?

I'm beginning to wonder if my VIA card is having issues.

You need to have your drive tray open halfway. That is why it won't enter vendor mode.

If you have a second, could you check out this link? It turns out that I have a lite-on dvd drive, and I need to purchase more parts. Would this work? In a previous post, you said that this would work? Are these 2 the same, but $15 bucks cheaper? If I can save some money, it'd be helpful. Unemployment sucks.

I flashed 2 boxes like a year ago and I reflashed dem again usin usb mod disc a few months bak. It was a benQ. Now Iv been banned. M$ r sumhow catchin people with flashed drives nd bannin dem. People were sayin it was due 2 MW2 but I neva played it pre release. I was wonderin is there any point of me flashin another box cs dey r not cheap nd people I no havnt been banned nd dey played MW 2 2 weeks b4 release.

I am sure that it is not possible to flash with a 64bit system especially running windows 7, XP 32bit is the best for flashing.
