I know the flash is not to blame for the RROD but still i'm skeptical. Does microsoft have any gaurentee that an error like the RROD wont happen again?? Just some questions i would like answered if anyone has the answers. Is the firmware fully reversible? Can i still use xbox live? thanks, if anyone has the answers that would be great!! Dean

Got 3 questions if you dont mind answering: Q1: I've attached a jpg of my device manager. Is my SATA card able to flash my 360? Q2: What would my SATA port number be called when using dosflash? Q3: Has anyone heard of the RROD or any other faults happening with xbox's using the benq drive? Thanks for the help, greatly appreciated!

Lastly: Q1: I'm guessing i should use the 'Benq iXtreme v1.41' firmware, but when extracted off of xbins, there is no 'make firmware.bat' command included in the file. There is however, such a file included with the 'Benq iXtreme 1.41 Rev 2 Non-Stealth Multispeed' firmware, but again, i'm guessing i would want the firmware that IS stealthy? The available firmwares on xbins are: - Benq0800.rar - Benq iXtreme v1.41.rar - Benq_iXtreme_1.41_Rev_2_Non-Stealth_Multispeed.rar - ixDef_1.41_Rev_2.rar Theres also a folder labeled 'old', i'm guessing those are older firmwares? Q2: Will it only play back up games that have been copied stealthly? Or do stealth games only matter when using Xbox Live? And do you know a thread which can explain how to successfully make stealth copies? Thanks man, for helping out a learner!! Best Regards Last edited by DBlackbeard; 10-09-2008 at 03:55 PM. I hook up the drive to the PC load the Dos type all the stuff in and get to the point where I hit Yes to start the read and power On/off the 360 I power it on and it goes back and forth from 0xd1 to 0x51 I turn it off and it always stops on D1. I have cycled the 360 numerous times and have tired several time with no luck. I have a DG-16D2S BenQ drive. I flashed a friends BenQ with NO problems what so ever so I dunno why mine is not working. Any ideas?

The stealth ones will only boot properly stealthed games, if you go online without stealth and an older firmware you WILL be banned Alright I am having the same problem that a guy was a while back. Q1: In the 'hacked firmware' folder on xbins, theres an ixtreme file thats 78kb big called 'benq iXtreme v.41.rar'. This file has no 'makefirmtool.exe'. It has only a 'readme.txt'. But in the same 'hacked firmware' folder, theres another folder called 'old', which i presume are older firmwares, and it has a file called 'Benq.iXtreme.v1.4.rar' and is 377kb big. This file has 'makefirmtool.exe' attached. Is this the firmware i use?? Although its in the 'old' file?? Hope this isn't to confusing! Q2: Does the 'benq iXtreme v1.4 nonstealth' firmware suggest that all backups will work on the drive, even if they not copied using stealth tactics? I understand this is not the safest route. Does the firmware 'benq iXtreme v1.4' have stealth included? Q3: I have the windows 98 boot files, but the tutorial doesnt explain clearly how I use them. To make a doslfash on my usb, dont i only copy the contents on dosflash 16 to my usb? Where do the files in the win98 boot files come into play?? Thanks again!

Just DONT use nonstealth unless you dont ever plan on touching XBL again Q3. The boot files are used in the boot maker in the beginning of the tut... I cant really get clearer than that without coming to your house and doing it for you. And yes, you only copy the contents of the DosFlash folder AFTER you have made the boot disk.

DO I HAVE TO DO ANYTHING SPECIAL? THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT IS HOLDING ME BACK FROM DOING THIS. I DONT WANNA BRICK MY DRIVE. ""3.Your iXtreme Firmware files get these off Xbins and PATCH THEM TO YOUR FIRMWARE.... putting these on your drive without your drive key will result in a non working drive"" THANKS! NICK-
