| 7S Enthusiast | Re: lite-on key help 1 month xbl who every helps me... I don't know much as I am still modding mine, but you're sure that you're placing it in the R707 hole and not the R708 or R709, right? It's gotta be in that hole the whole time (haha) and pressed down. Also, is your drive in the half open position? I believe that that is required. | 7S Enthusiast | Re: lite-on key help 1 month xbl who every helps me... Hmmmm. I'm not sure what your issue is here. What programs are you using to get the key? Also, make sure that all of your DVD drives are physically unplugged. Make sure you have updated drivers on everything. Other than that, I have no clue what your problem is. Maybe we can get someone with a bit more knowledge in here. |

| CIPPYCREATIONS ![]() | Re: lite-on key help 1 month xbl who every helps me... make sure to install the drivers and software for the probe befor starting creadit gos to azzid and Eclipse This tutorial shows users how to modify their Xbox 360's firmware using Windows 7 x64. This guide has been confirmed using a BenQ and a Samsung. Hitachi's have been confirmed to not work with this and Lite-ons are posted in another thread. How to Firmware Mod your Xbox 360 using Windows 7 64-bit Written by AzzidReign WARNING! AS OF RIGHT NOW PEOPLE ARE BEING BANNED INSTANTLY FROM XBL! SO CONSIDER THIS YOUR WARNING AND MOD AT YOUR OWN RISK! NEW MODDED FW IS COMING OUT IN THE NEXT MONTH OR 2 AND WE WILL HAVE THAT AVAILABLE TO YOU ASAP! THIS NEW FW SUPPOSEDLY WILL NOT BE DETECTED AT ALL. Figure out what drive you have, click here. /***** NOTE: This tutorial can work on any operating system but I labeled it specifically for Windows 7 x64 due to the fact everyone is upgrading to it and everyone is saying it's not possible. I will note where you can skip if you have a different operating system. /***** Requirements: A confirmed drive that works with this: BenQ or Samsung -If you have a liteon, you can follow this tutorial (http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/firmware-hack-tutorials/153066-flash-xbox-360-liteon-dvd-drive-dosflash-v1-8-a.html) VIA Sata Card with Chipset 6421 (bought cheap on eBay) Sata cable - to connect your 360 drive to your VIA chip x360 Opening Tool - Not needed but makes life much easier DosFlash v1.8 & Jungleflasher v0.1.66 Beta iXtreme Firmware (you must get it from xbins): Open your Xbox with the 360 Opening tool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ougfhliWbbA Open your Xbox without the 360 Opening tool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaxIB6cXTYM Removing your VIA card's Drivers You can first try to skip this part but if you can't get your computer to read your 360 drive, then come back and follow these steps. 1. Disable your VIA card using your Device Manager. 2. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers and rename "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys" to "viamraid.sys1" or "vsmraid.sys1" so your computer can't recognize them. 3. Re-enable your VIA card. 4. Shut down your PC. Getting this all to work Through my experiences, I've noticed I've had to do something that I would have thought didn't matter, but I proved myself wrong today. Make sure you unplug any SATA DVD drive that you may have hooked up to your PC. Even though you may have disabled it (or DosFlash disables it) in the device manager, for some reason my PC couldn't detect my 360 until I actually unplugged the SATA cable. Getting DosFlash 1.8 drivers to work on Windows 7 x64 (or any other 64bit OS; 32bit can skip this step): If you don't have a 64-bit OS, you can skip to the next section. 1. Inside the DosFlash download folder, you should see a program called dseo13b. Right-click and "Run as Administrator". 2. Keep clicking "Next" and/or "Accept" until you get to this screen: ![]() 3. Like the picture above, click "Enable Test Mode", then click next. A pop up will appear, click OK: ![]() 4. Then click "Sign a System File" and click next: ![]() 5. There is no browse button so go to the folder (outside the program) and navigate to where the dosflash folder is. Copy the directory over and then you'll have to type "\portio64.sys" at the end of it. Should look similar to this: ![]() 6. Now you'll have to restart your computer. When you reboot, you should see this in your bottom right hand corner: ![]() If you do then you are good to go on to the next steps. You can now shut down your computer again. Reading your Xbox 360 Drive If you are having a tough time with getting your computer to recognize the drive, you can try something one of our members had found: here. 1. Connect your 360 to your Sata port on your computer, or if you are using a VIA card it should be placed in this slot: ![]() Start up the computer. Once your OS fully loads, you can turn on your 360. Before we start make a folder on your desktop named "LiteOn Backup". This is where you will save your dump. If you are running Vista or Win7 right click Dosflash and select "Run as Administrator". 1. It will open and you will be shown this screen. ![]() It is asking to resend the command until the drive responds. Click No because the lite-on is locked and will not respond to the MTK Vendor Intro. 2. Now it may switch ports on you. Don't panic just in the drop down box at the top select the right port that your drive is connected to. You will then see this on your screen. ![]() 3. In the "Flashing Task" drop down box. Select the "LiteOn DVDKey" option. This is what your screen should look like. ![]() 4. Click LiteOn DvdKey and it will ask you where you would like to save the files. Remember that folder I had you make at the beginning? Navigate to that folder and save the files there. Once you select where to save all the files. You will see this screen.***DO NOT CLICK "YES" YET*** ![]() You need to now eject your tray halfway manually. Here is how. ![]() Where the red arrow is pointing is the part that you need to push towards the left. It will unlock the drive and eject the tray and keep the "closed" status. Pull the tray halfway out. Now you need to get your probe into the R707 hole so you can read the key. Here is a picture of the hole. Put your probe in the hole that the TxD arrow is pointing to. Keep it there the whole time that it is reading the files and key. ![]() Now once your probe is in the R707 hole you can click ok and it will start to read the key and files. 5. Once your key has been fully read and the files have been read you will see this. If you do not have 10 "Valids" then do not continue. You need to re-extract until you get all 10 Valid. ![]() Click ok. Now its time to unlock and erase the drive. 6. In the "Flashing Task" drop down box. Select LiteOn Erase as the task. Screen should look like this. ![]() Now click LiteOn Erase. If the erase is successful you will be shown this screen. ![]() 7. Now close DosFlash. You have to close it! If you don't you will only be returned with a "No flash chip properties" when you try to write to the drive. It will ask you if you would like to enable all of your dvd drives. Just select yes. Now its time to make the modded firmware. You can learn how to make the firmware in Azzid's tutorial. http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/firmware-hack-tutorials/152261-firmware-mod-your-xbox-360-using-windows-7-64-bit.html Start at "Writing the Modded Firmware to your 360 Drive" Instead of the "orig.bin" that is in Azzid's tutorial. Yours is named "dummy.bin". After step 6 in the "Writing the Modded Firmware to your 360 Drive" part of the tutorial come back to this one. DO NOT GO PAST STEP 6 IN AZZID'S TUT! 8. Now open DosFlash again. Remember if you are using Vista or 7 you need to right click and run as Admin. When it opens you will be shown this screen again. ![]() Now this time you will select "Yes". Reason is because the drive is now unlocked and will respond to the MTK Vendor Intro. You should be taken back to the normal screen that you have been using the whole time. Remember it might switch ports on you. If so just select the right port that is connected to your lite-on. 9. Now that you have the modded firmware made and drive is unlocked it is time to flash it like any other drive. In the "Flashing Task" drop down box select the Write option. This is what your screen should look like at this point. ![]() Now click the Write Flash button. It will now ask for you to select your modded firmware. Navigate to where you saved your modded firmware and open it and it will start flashing the firmware to the drive. This is what you will get if your flash is successful. ![]() Congratulations you have successfully flashed your Xbox 360 Lite-On drive. Last edited by supremecippy; 11-29-2009 at 11:51 AM. |
