Do i need my original frimware to flash the new 1.61??

hey guys,

I flashed my benq drive about a year ago and have since lost my original drive firmware.

Do i need this to be able to flash to 1.61 or during the flashing process when i pull the .bin from the drive and merge it with the v1.61 does it carry over the drive key??

You can pull of the WORKIN firmware from your drive *must be working obviously* and pull out the key from there

oh, one more question if you don't mind.

I;ve downloaded a copy of the benq 1.61 frimware, is this ok to use and I've hear reports of leaked firmware that doesn't have the full seceritiy checks.

No such thing as leaked firmware. Its completely safe to use.

Because 1.61 reads Wave 4 games without having to boot the Activate.iso..

1.61 worked for me, but I got console banned for MW2. I know it wasn't a bad rip.

Yea, alot of people have been getting banned for that.. So I am just going to wait until the game comes out before I use mine.. I think its too risky.. I also heard that there is a new ban wave hitting us..
