[Help] Flashing Liteon DG-16D2S

Hiya..okay I just opened my xbox 360 arcade and about to flash it but ran into some problems.

I have the sata cable but do I really need the probe and ck3 and sata card (whats sata card for?

)

I don't want to solder anything, I just want to flash it to play burned games. This is my first time.

If your lite-on has the 7xxxx firmware on it. Then yes you need a probe.
If your lite-on has the 8xxxx firmware on it. Then no you do not need a probe.

Yes you need the sata card. It is used to connect the drive to the computer.
The card you need is a VIA6421 Sata card.

I have like 2 sata ports in my computer and 2 ports on the back of the comptuer... 1394 and eSata, guessing their separate. How would I check what firmware I have?

Well, if i remember correctly, the liteon version should say either a 7 or 8 as the first digit under the part of the label where it says FW Ver. It is located on the bottom left of the label.

Example :

FW Ver: 74850c

There are 3 lite-ons.

One firmware version starts with a 7, then the other a 8, and the newest a 9.

7xxx all drives are dumpable with a probe.
8xxx most drives made after August09 are not dumpable
9xxx not dumpable at all at the moment.

Mine was made in July 2008 so I'm guessing its 7. Don't feel like opening it again lol, I'll find someone near me to do it. Thanks for all the help.

I've seen people charge $50 just to flash...WOW!

When i open jungle flasher and try to get the key it says serial port is bad.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME
