New to flashing- PLEASE HELP ME

Hi there,
I am new to flashing and have never done it before... I have a Lite-On drive and my friend has the Xecuter kit so he is gonna flash it for me. I have a few questions:

1) Once he has used the Xecuter kit, do I need to use it every time I update the iXtreme? or is there a way to get the keys?And what do I need the keys for?

2)What is this ABGX? Some people use it , some say it is pointless! What does it do?

3) What is this Wave 4 stuff? And what is the Activate.iso DVD? Some say it is not needed for 1.61? is that correct?

4) Any tips to avoid being banned on LIVE?

You will need to use it only once to get the keys, But I recommend using the Xecuter each time just to make sure the keys are working. The keys (I'm sure you mean dummy.bin) allow the firmware to work with your drive and Xbox hardware, if you lose them your xbox becomes a $300 DVD player.

ABGX is VEEEERRRRY important so that you don't get banned from live, It checks that the games are properly "stealthed" so that it isn't easily detectable that you are playing a backup or a legit game.

On iXtreme 1.6 you need a special activation disk to run wave 4 games. Here is more information: abgx360

Just don't be stupid about it, make sure to check ALL your games are properly stealthed and the checksums match up with ABGX.

What if it is used once and I just keep the dummy.bin file?

So I must ONLY play games that "pass" the ABGX test. Where can I download this ABGX from?

thanks for the link so this disk is 100% safe as long as game passes ABGX?

1. Keep dummy.bin and keep it forever. You can update easy as long as you keep that file.
2. ABGX just checks the stealth status of the game. Not really needed. But if your paranoid go ahead.
3. If you use 1.6 you need to play the activate.iso to play a game that has the extra video partion.
4. Don't be stupid.(This still doesn't guarantee you not getting banned.)

I have to be paranoid.... this is my only Xbox and I use LIVE a lot!

I recommend that you check every game at least twice with ABGX360, not only does it check stealth status, but also the checksum and other parts of the iso. So long as you do this and you don't play anything before it is released, you will be fine.

So when you say check it twice, does that mean--- 1 time stealth--- 1 time checksum--- or 2 of each?

How long after games are released does ABGX have the games verified? And how long do the tests take?

Only check it once. It is a waste of time to check it twice. ABGX does a good enough job the first time. Nothing changes.

I never check iso's. It took me a year and a half to get banned. Do i think i was banned for modified firmware? No, I am almost positive it was many other things I have done. I make all my rips with a kreon drive. My friends all have modded 360's and none of them are banned and they all use rips made by me. But unlike me i mod games and screw around. Which is why i was most likely caught and banned.

To be completely honest. If you download your games from legit sources and you don't do ISO mods and all that fun stuff then you will escape just about every ban wave there is.

I was just explaining everything that ABGX does, the way you have it setup (if following a tut) will check everything, When it finishes check it once more because double checking never hurt anyone. If you want to (like I do) after burning the game, check the burned DVD in ABGX. It's slower, but it just makes sure nothing is wrong and ensures you won't be banned

As for the second part... ABGX verification is based upon when somebody buys a retail copy of a game, rips it (twice) and uploads the important stuff (SS, etc.) to ABGX, there is no real timeframe as it depends on who gets that done first.

k cool.. what is this SS stuff? and if I have an ISO that DOESNT pass the ABGX test what do I do.... do I need to redownload another one or I heard it will patch itself or something like that?

It should patch itself automatically. After the patch, run it again to make sure. Otherwise the game is probably not checked by ABGX yet and you should wait.

SS=Security Sector

If one of the patches fail stealth verification as long as you have ABGX on level 3 and have autofix selected it will fix it automatically. IT will tell you if it succeeded at fixing the stealth files or failed.
