How to Manually Open Your Xbox 360 DVD Drive

I have seen this question more than a few times and this is how its done for all drives.
I show how to open the Hitachi manually even though its really not needed anyway. But this is just showing how to manually open each and every 360 drive.

The halfway open tray method is used in flashing tutorials when entering vendor mode. Requires the tray to be halfway open with a drive status of closed. This is how to open it halfway and keep the closed drive status.


The Red box shows the part you will be pushing.
The Red arrow show which way to push it.


Here is the Hitachi.


Here is the Samsung.


Here is the Benq.


Here is the Lite-On.

I bought a 5 broken 360's for $100. Was an incredible deal so i had to take it. Repairing them all. Then in the next week or so is when i will start selling them.

If you have a second, could you check out this link? It turns out that I have a lite-on dvd drive, and I need to purchase more parts. Would this work? In a previous post, you said that this would work? Are these 2 the same, but $15 bucks cheaper? If I can save some money, it'd be helpful. Unemployment sucks.

Yes, they will both work with flashing your lite-on. You can buy either one of them.
