How to Firmware Mod your Xbox 360 using Windows 7 64-bit

Ok im about to follow that tutorial, but what does it mean "probe" how do i follow that step?
oh and is a light on my computer or the xbox?

The lite-on is the name of the drive.

As for a probe. If you don't have one then don't even start the tutorial because you cannot even read the key without it.

If you want to make it really easy on yourself. I suggest buying this.

I was able to flash my BenQ, but now I'm trying to flash my MS28. Its been flashed to 1.4 before but now all I get is "No know flash chip on this port".

Update:
Yeah, I actually got it about 20 minutes later. I needed to power cycle the drive and it finally read it. Everything is good now!!!

Im trying to flash my benq drive, but my pc (win 7 64bits) won´t recognice it! When I start the DosFlash64 it happens to see another drive, I don´t know what it is but it says benq too, the problem is that that .bin size it´s 2MB, not 256Kb, any suggestion?

If the drive is showing up. Then when you click read it tells you that. It is because its not in Vendor Mode,.

hi, that tus great i aktuali hept me flash my drive iven i had to do it in a 32 bit os because i have a Hitachi drive, but that helpt me alot. and i dont cnow if its here but i want to ask if there is posible to play a backup copy of my game on my fresly flashed 360 with my xbox live perfil but not conect to interrnet ad then put my memory unit in another xbot that i have with the stok drive and play the original games over xbox live. and i want to know if they can detekt that i have played backups on another console or they cant. the ting is i want to have the archivments and the save games in ane xbox acount not in 2 different acouns. prease tellme if this is posibe or pleas give a linc were i can ask about that. and btw i`m sory for my bad english but thats not my natal langiage and i dont aperentli dont speek it well . and thank again for the gret tutotial.

The only way they can tell is if the burned backup isn't stealth patched. You can run each ISO through ABGX (link to the tutorial at the bottom of this one) and it will stealth it for you.

I don't recommend playing games early either. That will definitely increase your risk to getting banned.

AMD 770 AMDSb710 plugged directly into the motherboard.....2 ide dvd drives 2 sata hard drives......followed the guide..but when dosflash goes a benq drive is recognized run magic28 and the other program with the tray open they both never go through properly...tried changing sata spots a bunch of times and removing the dvd drives and what not....my only choice to get the VIA card?

Already done, DosFlash still not seeing the xbox drive, it says "no ATAPI drive present", thanks for the quick replies

Then if I use the mem card to switch my gametag betwin the 2 consols i have there is no way tey can cachme. And in that case I ant use the same HDD because if the copy I instal to it isn't well stealted microfoft can detect me. So thanx alot. And btw I used the integrated sata port of my MOBO with a SIS chipset and i ave a Asus P5B with a INTEL SATA and it recognized the hitqchi drive too. I hope that info will help some one who nt have thw ba cadr but ave one of those 2 chips integrated to flash his drive.

I forgot to say that i used the sis one to flash the drive. The inli thing is I'm not 100% shure the chip is the sis one ir it' s diferent I lil post lated the exact models if the 2 chips.

I posted this is in the Lite-On tutorial for x64, but I thought I'd post it here as well:

I finally did it!

DosFlash64 would NOT for the life of me get me the DVD key... everywhere I read seemed to suggest that if I had iExtreme on my lite-on already, I did NOT need extra hardware... DosFlash64 kept giving me invalid keys...

I had to install an XP partition and use JungleFlasher to finally get the DVD Key properly using the "Get Key from iExtreme" button- worked like a charm... the rest of the steps worked just fine (yes - I wrote the firmware using Doflash64 just fine) and now I have 1.6

now here's hoping 1.61 for lite-ons comes out this weekend

Hi everyone.....I'm a real big newbie just bought my first 360 (off craigslist bad bad mistake) drive went out 2 days after I bought it....

After reading this site in just one day I have learned to take the box apart, remove the drive (benq), and read the firmware, make a backup of the ixtreme firmware that was on it, (it had been previously been mod'd with ixtreme 1.6) so I can get the key so I can replace the drive....


I was using Windows 7 x64...
MOB is a MSI P43NE03 with 8 stat ports.

I was able to use the mob's stata port to connect the drive to.

A couple questions I have is:

The key I recovered from the benq that had ixtreme 1.6 on it. can I use it if I need to install a new benq dvd drive in the xbox even though it's not the original firmware?

Do I retreive the firmware from the new drive, insert the key from the deceased benq into the new firmware using Jungleflasher?

Do I have to probe the new drive? ( I still need to read more on the probing thing)

Yes.

You can use the modded firmware you extract from your drive as the original.bin because it has your DVD key in it.

You would
1. Extract old drives firmware
2. Extract new drives firmware
3. open old drives firmware as source
4. open new drives firmware as target.
5. click spoof to target.
6. save to harddrive.
7. flash the newly created firmware to the new drive.
