How to Flash All Xbox 360 DVD Drives in JungleFlasher

Kind of a dumb question, but say I buy the VIA6421 sata card, install it onto my computer. How do I connect my xbox 360 to my computer? The name of the thing is probably staring me right infront of the face but I cant see it.

Sata cable goes from the back of the dvd drive to the sata card.

ok well guys i have a stupid question i guess i know i can take off my faceplate and look for hte wires but..... i have the orginal halo 3 360 bundle anyone know what drive they came out with id take my fact plate off but im not at home and wont be for a few days im bored and want to mod my xbox 360 jsut finished my wii i have here with me so if anyone could tell me what drive it "should" have ill read up so when i get homw i can make it as fast as possiable

No you can use the 360 to power the drive while flashing.

well its a hitachi or at least it look like it from the tray my girlfriend said it has 2 holes in it so.... think it will be hard to flash up to ixtream 1.6? just asking questions so i know what im getting into befor i get back home and start working on this

I'm totally new to modding/flashing, I'm goin to try it for the first time today & will probably need some help...Here's my info I have a Benq drive, I already bought the VIA6421-sata-PCI card & the Tork 10 screw driver, My PC is running windows 7(64bit). I've read the tutorial & noticed in this thread that it's different when using a 64bit OS. Is there a step by step guide dedicated to Benq & a 64bit OS? I'm neither a computer idiot or a comp genius, I guess I'm somewhere above average at computer smarts.

I was wondering if I would need a VIA sata card or can I use my onboard sata. My chipset is nforce 680i SLI. I haven't been able to find a list of compatible chip sets. Does anyone know if mine will work or will I have to buy a VIA 6421 sata card?

Hi guys. Just been reading your thread and its really informative cheers. Been out of the game for a while, since I got banned on ixtreme 1.3. It all seems to have got a bit complicated since then!

Carson, is this VIA chipset really necessary as I'm still using the same tower as I used to flash my Hitachi with but now Ive bought a new TS drive to play online with.

Also, this new xbox ive bought has been opened already and the flowchart in the tutorial asks for the current firmware. Is there anyway of finding out what FW's on it?

Try going directly to JungleFlasher's site. They currently have the most current .pdf posted here Change Logs .

If you want a "hard copy" just save it to your computer once web loaded.

I had to download the newest windows updates, it's called net framework i believe sorry i don't know the link. You could probably google it.
