How to make iXtreme 1.5 firmware using FIRMTOOL

In this tutorial you will learn how to use FIRMTOOL to make your iXtreme firmware for use with any flashing program.

How to use FIRMTOOL
By Venomous Fire

D/L your firmware from Xbins as normal

Rename your iXtreme benQ file ix15.bin

Grab your orig.bin and your iXtreme file and firmtool.exe and place them ALL at the location "c:/"
without quotes.



Now open up command promt and type "cd c:\" without quotes



Type "firmtool orig.bin ix15.bin" without quotes, ix15.bin is now your hacked firmware.



Congratulations!!!!

Note this tutorial used BenQ firmware, but any drives firmware will work

Why not just use powertoy for xp and open whatever folder you want in cmd from there and do it?

Beezy, use jungle Flasher for that, and if you use Jungle Flasher you dont need this

I got the firmware and jungle flasher, and dos flash and i don't see anywhere where it says how to flash a samsung or a benq. I'm having problems with iprep so I need some help on how to get jungle flasher ready/working.

So all I have to do is backup my original firmware than fowllow these steps making the hacked firmware than just go open it up in a a flashing program and just flash it?

Hello, on the first step to rename the benQ file, when I download from xbins I get the "ixtreme_1.5_benq.rar", do I rename that whole file to "ix15.bin"? Sorry this is my first time. Thanks.

extract the rar file with win rar.

Wow I know this is a noobish question and it has probably been asked before ,but i am new to this soo my question is..... Instead of connecting your 360 via sata cable to comp, can't I just use Xsata?

Nice job with the tut. but is anyone have issues with their new 1.5 firmware? Mine has been wanting to freeze my box and not want to read normal game disks anymore. i sometimes have to take out my HDD and open my drive a couple of times before it starts working right?

Are there any bugs in 1.5 firmware?
