It's very easy to follow and you don't need to reboot your windows machine at all.

if i am flashing a hitachi 47DH drive with the 1.6 firmware do i have to do this before i flash it or is the firmware good to go right after i get it off of xbins?

The firmware off xbins is what you put in your c: drive with the original firmware from your drive. This tut shows you how to make the modded firmware.

i only get that orig.bin file does not exist, and i have done it the exact way as you do it, only that i use 1.6 firmware

Make sure your original firmware is named orig.bin

im using firmtool v.1.3.1 and the original file is named orig.bin but i still get the same error message. i dont need to have the xbox 360 plugg in at that point?

can i just add you on skype or something?

I keep getting the error - No valid version found in orig.bin!!! Program aborted.

Anyone got an idea what the problem is?

also iv had the same error as iMAGINE123 with orig.bin does not exist when iv moved the file from the origional location it was created.

got it.

it didn't like having orig.bin copied from the usb stick, changed the synax to firmtool M:\orig.bin ix161.bin and jobs a good'un. thanks
