| Novice | Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S Hi, I hope someone here can help me. I've followed this tut perfectly until the erase part. It just kept giving me D0 with lite-on-erase and FFFF with L-O-ERAS. So I decided to try MTK flasher and it worked, I erased my firmware! =) After that I used dosflash 32 to put iX15.bin on my recently erased Lite-On drive. So that would pretty much finish the process right? Well, I plugged it back into my x-box etc but now, it won't read any cd/dvd's!! If I put anything in it, it just spins REALLY fast and ends up reading nothing (The dashboard just gives me the option to eject tray). If I do that while it's still spinning it comes out spinning really fast scratching the disc REALLY bad!! What have I done wrong? Did I mess a step up? Please help me!! |

| Member | Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S The LiteOn drive has NO original firmware. That is why it was a very hard drive to hack. They had to decap and dip the drive in acid to read it and develop the iX1.5 for it. The only thing you can do it put 1.5 on it. |

| 7S Enthusiast | Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S i tried following this tut , but im stuck at the point where i gotta turn off/on the ck3. You know, where it says "Now select the MTKFlash 32 tab and hit the erase button. Follow the prompts carefully!! You will have to power cycle the drive (turn CK3 power on/off - do it quickly though, 1 second max) to return the correct ID of the drive (0x72) and to prevent your computer freezing when using VIA cards. After power cycle, drive should return status 0x72 and display the drives Flash information. If it does not, click Device ID and power cycle as prompted. If still not successful then you did not successfully erase the drive" i tried but to no avail. Any pointers?? Btw , i used a ck3 pro with usb PLUS a probe. | Junior Member | Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S For those using this tut dont use firmtool 1.3 There have been some reports that its not correctly spoofing / copying drive information to the new firmware. Use firmtool 1.3.1 or jungleflasher. although jungleflasher says it uses firmtool 1.3 it does not have the bug that 1.3 standalone has. 1.3.1 has been release some time back to correct the bug. This could be in the future detectable by M$. |

| Novice | Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S Major issue: First, thanks for this tutorial, I wish I found it sooner. I followed what I'd guess you could call, a misguided video on youtube which, I don't care so much about the drive because I have a new benq that I'll be swapping in it's place. What happened was, they didn't even give a description on using an RS232 with either building your own connector or the CK3. It just pretty much jumped right to the dosflash end. Well anyway, following that video, I did the liteon erase command, so basically I didn't extract the key because I was totally unaware of the CK3. So my question is, is the xbox totally gone, due to the fact of not properly extracting the key? Or is there a slim chance I could get lucky with the CK3 and still be able to retrieve the drivekey? After I did the misguided tutorial on youtube, I put it all back together and tested it with an original game and it failed, it was reading it as a DVD movie. So I jumped to conclusions and assumed I could swap out the drive and use my brand new benq in it and that was a no go. Please help, Thanks guys! I have done 3 of them successfully but that was with all 3 xbox's having the benq drive originally. Thanks again! Last edited by BungHOLE; 02-03-2009 at 03:11 PM. |

| Novice | Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S I didn't think so either, I figured you'd know better than me, lol. But I couldn't figure out why when I put the Liteon back in like it was original that it wouldn't boot. ![]() Thanks! Also, Quick question here to understand this: I'm slightly confused here. Where I'm confused at, is the drivekey unique to each specific drive? If so, does the BIOS on the board of the xBox see the drivekey? Why I'm asking is, how come I cannot just swap out the LiteON drive and use my brand new Benq? When I did that, it just says Play DVD. Is this because the drivekey has to match both the drive and the BIOS onboard, which would make sense of why I have to extract my LiteON key? Thanks! Last edited by BungHOLE; 02-03-2009 at 09:32 PM.
