Basically the same. Dump the key from one 360, and flash the lite on with that key so it will run in that 360.

You need to have the connectivity kit or build the serial adapter.

Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S

Hello all.. I hope someone here can help me..

BIG PROBLEM!!

To make the long story short.. I got a ck3 with probe.. I wanted to use jungleflash, but it just keep on freezing up my xp computer.. So then i used the dos way.. I used dvdkey0.6(not 0.7) to get the key, inquiry, identity and dummy.bin.. I used firmtool 1.3.1 to spoof the flash.. Used dvdflash 1.7 to erase and write the flash.. I did powercycle after erase.. I did everything to the dot.. When i flash it with the spoof flash.. It completed without error/fail.. I plug the drive back into my 360.. Turn it on.. I get the red ring..

I probably tried many different way from spoofing to erase to flashing.. I think i come to conclude that something went wrong when i was extracting the .bin files.. BUt i dont know.. Please shine some light on me.. I do not know what went wrong..

Thank you in advance..

That is an add-on. You would need the maximus xtractor for that to work. It is just a solderless solution.

Well, that just seems like bad luck. Red rings is nothing to actually do with your drive. You may have messed up taking the Xbox apart. Did you use a hairdryer to take your sticker off? That could have overheated it. Flashing has nothing to do with red rings.

Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S

I have made progress - with my xtractor reader and spear I have been able to find the key and safe the 3 files on my computer.
But what what Do I have to do now ? - must I use other software than xtractor reader to update the firmware on the liteon drive ?

Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S

If you look at the tutorial, you have to use Firmtool to make the new firmware, then go to the folder with the Lite-On erase, then go into DosFlash32 and power cycle it until it allows you to write to your drive.

Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S

Hey, I read the tutorial that you put togther and I have to say that you did a wonderful job. Even though im still having some problems. I was able to pull the dvd key and dummy.bin and edit it using FirmTool. But my issues began after, I was never able to get dosflash to do anything with my drive, it would see it but when it came to flashing or erasing it said something about No flash chip recognized or something like that. I tried usingJungle Flasher and I was able to erase the old firmware and it seemed to have flashed the drive as well but when i put everything back togehter it would not play regular xbox games or movies. I am guessing this is because I flashed it incorrectly. I dont know what I need to do to get dosflash to work for me ( I ahve tried using it when booting into dos), any suggestions??? Also should I de-solder th R707 joints that were supposed to be joined for the key dump?

Thank you for your help

Yes you should Desolder afterwards.

I never soldered mine, I had a piece of tape with two dots of solder on it and used that to connect the points.

Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S

Yeah, so I de-soldered everything and still no go. I am going to try and reflash the drive, should I maybe use an older version of Dosflsh or something, because I cannot get it to write or erase from my drive, even in dos mode.

Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S

Whats the best way to power cycle my dvd drive, maybe I am doing that part wrong and thats why dosflash is not recognizing my dvd drive, also when I used the lit-on-erase program it gave me code FFFF, what does that mean?

Thank you for your help, I believe I got it figured out, your tutorial was very informative and accurate, thank you. Just a small question, what do you guys use to burn game backups?

Regards
Sketchie

Re: How to Flash the Lite-on DG-16D2S

ForrestMaster i recently was using Jungleflasher and when I was in the process of erasing my lite-on my computer froze. Now my ck3 pro doesn't eject the drive. I was able to extract key save all three files and spoof the bin. So i have the lite_cfw.bin ready. My question is i have the ck3 pro and use the usb because i dont' have a serial port. Can i use the DosFlash method you posted to try and erase the drive and flash even though i don't have a serial port?

Yeah, the CK3 pro allows you to not worry about the serial port.

Hi i just made the adapter they used in that other tutorial you linked. I can't seem to get the right key though. I get all 0000s. However, my drive is detecting just fine.
I'm kinda confused on how I should connect to the DB9 pins in the picture. Is that a female or male head in the picture?

My tool should look fine and i checked the links with a multimeter.
let me know if you can help. thanks!

oops... my bad. simple mistake. as i was tweaking with the wires. i pulled out the 5V connection. haha
