Well since there is no new custom firmware release anytime soon, those dont want to upgrade to higher versions of the official PSP firmware are pretty much out of playing a lot of the new PSP games. Coder Yoshihiro from PSPGen now has a solution to this.

Quote:

Game Decrypter. According to the translated description, this app will let you play new games on older firmware. Apparently Yoshihiro was able to successfully play MotorStorm: Arctic Edge on 5.03GEN (PSP-3000 and PSP-2000 v3) and 5.50GEN (PSP-2000 and PSP-1000).

The app is still a work in progress, but PSPGen reports that it should become available tonight. You can find out more about it at the source link.

Here is a simple tutorial on how to get them to work.

First Install The GameZDecryptZ Folder In Your PSP/GAME Folder

Load Up The The .ISO In UMD Gen.

Go Into PSP_GAME/SYSDIR/ And Right Click On EBOOT.BIN And Click Extract Selected.

Put The EBOOT.BIN Extracted From UMDGEN PSP_GAME/SYSDIR And Put It On The Root Of Your Memory Stick.

Now Boot Up The Game Decrypter, When Its Loaded Press X. Once Its Done It Will Exit.

Now Go Into USB Mode And There Should Be A new Folder Called DECRYPTOR, Copy The EBOOT.BIN From There Into UMDGEN Replacing The Old EBOOT.BIN

Now Go To Save and Click On Uncompressed (*.iso)

Now Just Copy The New .iso To Your PSP ISO Folder And Set Your UMD ISO Mode To M33 Driver.
