Does anyone know how to set songs I already have on my Sidekick as a ringtone?

you cant on a sidekick you have to buy the ringtones

Yeah that sucks about the 08 and the original Lx. I couldn't put my own ringtones. But iM happy though, cuz I got my 09 Lx a couple weeks ago, and finally I can put or make my own ringtones. Only the 09 can do it, but for the 08 you'll have to buy them like Cash said.
