| Member | How to Standby for Host in CoD4! First let me start off by saying I'm not the best at explaining things, so here goes..... Note: I will say that this is not necessarily a 100% Host every time, I have done it multiple times in a row and not in a row, but it has also failed on me a few times as well, but hey at least its a start right?.........If anybody wants to fiddle around a bit with the timing then be my guest. Requirements: Bridged Connection (2 Network cards in your computer). Zone Alarm Pro or Above. 1) In the CoD4 Multiplayer Menu Press 'A' on "Find Match". 2) Highlight the Gametype you want to play (*DON'T PUSH 'A' YET!*). 3) On your computer put your Zonealarm Firewall on 'HIGH' and press 'A' on the gametype you want to play. 4) Wait until you go into a lobby by yourself. 5) Put your Firewall down to Medium for about 4 or 5 seconds, then put it back up for about 3 seconds. 6) Continue doing the 4-5 down 3 up until the game is about to actually start and you are on the Map Loading Screen. 7) Finished, you should be host and to know if you are AS SOON AS YOUR SCREEN COMES OFF THE LOADING SCREEN select a gun REALLY FAST and press back, you should be Full Green bar and everybody else should be in Low green, Yellow or Orange at first. I only tested this with a BRIDGED connection, I have my xbox360 connected through my computer, if somebody else wants to try different ways then go for it . Its worked for me multiple times.EDIT: I don't know if this has anything at all to do with it but I also have these IP's added to my trusted zone in Zonealarm.... Code: [IP Range] 65.55.42.0 - 65.55.42.255 And my own IP. NOTE: When I do it right when it says up above the players "Selecting Best Host" that's when I make sure I put my Firewall to High and Medium as much as possible in that time. However it pisses me off when people with cheap internet connection somehow get host, whether it be with ZAP or luck. Up to a few weeks ago I've almost always been host just because I have Verizon FiOs but nowadays it seems people with bad connections keep getting host. Neither here nor there. Good tut. |

Usually if you just standbye for your own lobby, you will either get host or a 4-bar match, and it is not really necesary to bridge your connection, play with your firewall etc to get a good game unless you desperately need host for some other reason or have a terrible host... |

In other words, you're scraping it(bearly making it) I know how to get it everytime ![]() Your IP sets are wrong aswell.. I am really not trying to start anything, just trying to give you notice. Add me and I'll show you I can do it 100%. I experimented with this so much and have perfected it. |

Second, I can do it pretty much everytime now also using this method so its working just fine, but if you would like to explain how to do it "the right way" then feel free to here that way everybody can see and not just me.
