How To Mod Call of Duty 4 (pics)

First of all, I would not like to take any credit on the programs used during this tutorial, I am only posting this because it took me about an hour to learn it from this other website and I just thought that it could be simplified.

Ok, I would like to point out that this is not very complicated and can pretty much be done by anyone. So don't be scared that you will mess up your harddrive. If you are still scared, I will also include how to backup your saves just in case you #*&% up and get the one red ring.

Step 1: You will need to Xport or Xplorer into your harddrive. (I will be using Xport)


Step 2: Follow this directory. Partition 3\Content\E000031FFA2C17B8\415607E6\00000001 This folder will have a savegame.svg file in it. Once there, drag it to your desktop and make a backup of it.


Step 3: Once a backup is made, open up Modio, then go to: Tools\Call of Duty 4


Step 4: Click "Load File" and pick your savegame.svg

Step 5: Check the boxes of the mods that you want and then click "Mod File" A window, titled success, will pop up saying that the file has been rehashed and resigned for you.


Step 6: Now exit Modio (if you want) and then go back to Xport or Xplorer, and then delete the origional savegame.svg, and drag and drop the modded savegame.svg into the folder.

Step 7: Exit Xport or Xplorer and remove your harddrive, then go play CoD 4, but make sure to hit "Resume Game" in the menu, or the mod will be erased with a new save game.


Tips:
The savegame.svg comes from the previous time you played the game, so if you want to beat a certain level on veteran or whatever difficulty, start that level on veteran and then hit pause and click exit and save game. This will create your savegame.svg on the current level that you saved. If you do this for all three acts, you will have pretty much all of the achievements.

Wow this looks kind of cool. So if you start a new campaign save then the modified one will be lost? Or will these mods always be on your HDD for the campaign?

i can't explain this well so ill give you a scenario

lets say i start up Safehouse on veteran. i then pause and click exit and save
i then go and mod the file and then play the game again. If i hit mission select instead of resume game, there will be no mods. but the game will still work as normal. (i think if superbounce is on it will stay, idk why tho) so instead of clicking mission select, click resume campaign, and the mods will take effect, giving you your ability to get veteran achievements. if you want to do this on all misions, simply complete the mission with the mods on. then once the mission is complete, just exit to the main menu and click mission select and start the next mission (this is because you cannot mod already modded savegame.svg's). so once the new savegame.svg is created by starting a new mission, click exit and save and then repeat the process

This looks awsome and im definatly going to try this but i was wondering if these campaign saves are detectable and if i could get banned from xbox live or the game?

they cannot detect this, because it isn't online, just campaign (u can still sign into xbox live with the mods on too)

i have my xbox connected to my computer through an xsata and im using xplorer and i can open it so i can see the 3 partitions but under partition 3 all there is is some weird name like 1/4...then just a bunch of weird letters please help..oh and...you said u can use it while on xbox live but when i connect my xbox to my computer i cant use anything on the hard drive no accounts or anything

Use Unknown v2's Call of Duty 4 Mod tool, modio's not too good in that area.

I had an Xsata to connect my Xbox HDD to my computer, but i lost the cable. (LoL)

Is there another way to connect your HDD without taking it apart?
