| Novice | How to Force Host I know this works on PSN and I'm assuming it may also work on XBL. It's a pretty easy procedure all you need is some sort of IP flooder/lag switch or some downloading program running on a computer connected to the same internet connection. The point is to make your internet connection so bad that you can't connect to anyone, then you will automatically host. On a wireless connection, you could run a torrent client or limewire on a computer connected to the same network and your connection will, by all practicality, die. Assuming you have a direct connection to your console, you will need a lag switch. It is much more difficult to hinder your connection this way as too little will let you join a game and too much will disconnect you from online play. This method works for me every time I want to host, I just do as I said above and then turn the program off or stop lagging once I begin hosting a game. Things like being in the game first (your method), having a large party, having a fiber optic connection, only increases your chances. Yes when you are the first in there and "host" it you are very likely to be the host but when someone with Clearwire does that yet somebody with Verizon FIOS joins a few seconds later, the one with Verizon will get host. BTW this is already known. There have always been, but those who know how to do it try to keep it to a select few some that it doesn't spread and you have a bunch of standbying host "whores" as you mentioned. | Shread Mo MW2 ![]() | Re: How to Force Host That hosting system is not present on CoD on ps3, it is simply whoever is first in the lobby gets to host. I have a great internet connection but the only assured way to host is by being the first in the lobby (on ps3). That's why I posted this. On 360 I had no idea it chose the best host, so I guess this wouldn't help as much. |

| Shread Mo MW2 ![]() | Re: How to Force Host 12 guys with a non wireless connection in a game, who gets host? Enough said. We care because some people don't like laggy games and you can also manipulate the game through being host but I won't go into detail on how to do that here. |

| Novice | Re: How to Force Host It's simple to force host. 1) Have a laptop connected to the same network 2) Use specifically Utorrent as your main torrent application 3) In Preferences-->Connection: enable "NAT-PMP port mapping" to lag 4) Afterwards, connect to an online multiplayer game; If you end up as the 1st one in the server, exit out of Utorrent completely for 10 seconds. Optional--> 5) Restart the Utorrent application, and now your a "laggy host" Last edited by JRM75; 10-02-2009 at 12:46 PM. |
