Crash

  • Weapons of choice: Assault(M16, M4, AK47) LMG(Saw or RPD) and for the brave Sniper Rifles
  • Marines spawn at the Factory while Terrorists spawn at the corner garage area.
  • Areas of interest: Spawn areas, Tower, Crash site, Blue building overlooking the crash site, Shop/Roof of Shop overlooking the Crash Site, Long narrow alleyway from the Terrorist spawn to the Shop Roof and open field behind the Shop
There are allot of small alleyways between the blue building and Shop to hide so watch for guys hiding in the dark areas. Snipers tend be on the 2nd floors of the houses especially the shop and the roof of the 3 story building and the 2nd story in the terrorist spawn house. Terrorists spawn guys tend to run toward the back of the blue house and go to the side door to run to the 3 story building. They also like running down the long alleyway toward the shop. Marine spawn guys tend to run toward the 3 story building or straight toward the crash site to the blue house.

Jake007g's take:
I usually use the M4 or AK on this map. I somtimes use the sniper (M40A3 With Acog, and steady aim).

Anyways a good perk to use on this map is the 3x frag perk. I say this because grenades are very useful for getting guys who camp on the roof tops. Especially the tower building. You can throw a grenade from the ground onto the roof of this building. I do it all the time. Gdogg pretty much summed up all the action areas but here is my tips on throwing grenades at the beginning. And no these are not random grenades that I throw. I throw them in the direction I believe the enemy to be so therefore they are not random. Also cook your grenades before throwing if you can.

Marine Spawn: Right from the start just run straight ahead and throw your grenades towards the blue building when you get past the wooden fence. Often times the other team is moving through this area to get towards the three story building. Everybody loves that building. The 3x perk works great here. Just fan them out and a kill or multiple kills are almost guaranteed.

Spetsnaz Spawn: From the start run straight ahead and down the hill to the left. Throw your grenades to the left of the shop. Often times members from the other team will bypass going through the Tower building and will come this way instead.

Another one at the beginning is to go down the steps to left through the blue house and out the door by the heli. Throw your grenades over the wall to the left to get the other team who will be moving through that area to the Tower building. This one is hard because often times there is a member who went the other route and will be to your right. Very easy to get killed doing this one.

The only other thing I will say about this map is when you are trapped in the marine spawn or the spetsnaz spawn, don't try and rush the enemy often times they have the advantage and you will get killed continuously and very frustrated. Just take the long way around. Which often is the best thing you can do in this game.

Vacant
  • Weapons: SMGs(MP5, AK74, P90)Shotguns, LMGs and Assault(M16,M4,AK47)
  • British SAS spawn outside the trailers in front of the main front door building. Russian Spetznaz spawn in the Office Block.
  • Areas of interest: Office Block, Warehouse, Outside trailers, Outside Gas Truck and Raised Gas Tanks next to the trailers, raised platform leading to warehouse, Parking lot to the right of the British spawn, dumpster window looking down the hallway toward the bathroom on the right and doors on the left for the warehouse, other dumpster window lookin down the hallway offices on the right and Office Block hallway door
Interior battles run amuck in this map. Hide in the shadows to get the jump on guys or lay down behind cover since its hard to see inside sometimes. I usually call air strikes for outside areas or near the warehouse and sometimes you can kill a guy in the open roof room inside the building if you feel lucky. you’ll see the room when you first go to the main door of the building. Most kills on me come from the Office Block where you can hide in the shadows or overlook the bathroom door from the gated doorway inside the computer room near the warehouse door. Sorry if it sounds confusing. I guess its best to watch the kill cam on this map when you feel like you don’t know where you got killed. I’ve seen guys tend to camp the platform from the steps and left side of the platform, as well as the dumpster windows sometimes on top of dumpster in the crouched position or prone behind cover inside the buildings windows.

Jake007g’s Take:
I only like to use SMG's on this map. The MP5 and P90 with RDS and unsilenced are my guns of choice. The action is usually non stop on this map and I feel the silencer only hurts you more than it helps because it cuts down on range. And range is needed when the guys are camping the windows at the end of the halls or you are moving through the hangar area. Shotgun can be used but it's hard to get multiple kills with it and this is a map that often times has you running into two or more people at a time. LMG can work because of it's magazine capacity but it's not the easiest to shoot from the hip. That's another thing, I always use steady aim in the last perk slot on this map. Because 90% of the time you are turning corners and shooting from the hip without looking down the sites.

Grenade Tossing on Vacant:
If you spawn as SAS on this map run straight ahead up the steps and right before you enter the door straight ahead of you start cooking your grenade. Move through the little courtyard and throw the grenade when you get close to the door on the other side. You are going to throw it through that door and the other door behind it and slightly to the right. It takes some practice to get down but once you do the kills come easy. My personal best is four with one grenade.

If you spawn as Spetsnaz, the first thing to do is move out through the hangar to the right. Not the other way because of the grenade threat. Anyways what I'll do is move through the hangar and when I get a little more than half way I throw a flash through the opening between the roof and the wall in front of me. Not through the door. I throw it slightly to the left and follow up with a frag grenade. This toss has a fifty fifty chance of getting someone. Since most people go straight ahead at the start of the match.

Something else that comes in handy on this map is C4. You'd be amazed at how far you can throw it and the places to put it. Two of my favorite places to place it are the big door at the hangar and the bathroom area. You can throw it through the opening between the roof and the wall. The same opening I throw grenades through. This allows you to get guys who are hiding on the other side. Then when I'm in the Office Block I will throw it through the bars towards the door that leads into the bathroom. Also if you are brave enough, when the enemy gets jammed in an area straff in and throw some C4 towards them then straff out and detonate.

Ambush
  • Weapons: Assault,LMG,Sniper Rifles,SMGs
  • Marines spawn in the back middle of the blown up buildings in the Spawn North Area. Terrorists spawn in the back middle of the run down shacks in the South Spawn area.
  • Areas of Interest: The street separating the the 2 sides, 2nd floor rooms on the each side of the map...From the marine spawn, right side of the blown up buildings...the other 2nd floor room is on the left side on the Shack houses side. There are also the 2 roof buildings in the middle of the map on opposite ends of each other.
This is one of my favorite maps. I put down SMGs on here cause I usually use them to get challenges but most of time I have my trust M16 or M4. This is also one of the grenade tossing challenges me and Chiro have. Since both teams spawn in the back middle we tend to run down the middle and throw our grenades on the opposite side. This is where extreme condition comes in for me since I can run a farther distance and having an SMG gives you a bit more mobility. Of course it only works in the beginning of the game so if you feel SMGs dont give you that range youll have to switch it up to Assault.

This map is pretty much symmetrical. There are 3 ways to each side with the main Street separating the sides. Snipers like those corner room 2nd floors with claymores covering their backsides. Dont underestimate the 2 tunnels in the middle to help get to one side or the other. Skirmishes seem to happen along the narrow alleys concerning the 2nd floor rooms. Their also abundant along the roofs as well. Guys tend when they get on the main street to hang out along the edges especially where the alleyways meet the main street so caution going out to the street.

Jake007g’s take:
Sorry I have nothing to offer on this map other than the great grenade toss at the beginning of the game. I don't know what it is about this map but I can't be consistent on it. I'm still working on some strategies myself. I will say I mostly use the AK on this map because it packs more punch and seems to take less bullets to drop people than the M4. Which is important on this map since there is a high part in the middle and a bunch of places to take cover quickly. I do know having gdogg on your team helps with this map.

BLOC
  • Weapons: Assault, LMG, Sniper Rifles
  • British spawn I believe South West of the Crack Building. Russians spawn North East of the Flag Building. I may be wrong since I'm doing this from memory, if I am Ill correct it later. It may be reversed
  • From the Map
    • CourtYard = Courtyard or Open Range
    • West Apts = Crack Building
    • East Apts = Flag Building(there are flags hanging outside on the building looking out the Courtyard)
    • North Base = Dark Alleyway or Burning Barrel Way
    • South Base = Light Alleyway or Shadow Way
This is somewhat of dark map with shadows so your going to have to focus more than usual when moving inside the buildings. Snipers love to hide in the shadows over looking the Courtyard. North of the Crack Building is a set of steps behind a blown up wall snipers love to go up and camp. The Crack Building has 2 ways to go up on the 2nd Floor. From the South end of the building is a set up steps that lead up the open portion or blown up portion of the building (For some reason I call it the crack building since there are cracked walls all over that side). The middle stairs in the front go up as well. From the North end is long hallway to the middle stairs but you have to watch out for campers from the above hole in the ceiling once you go in that door. The south base or light alleyway area has another building I like to call the pool building (its the pool building cause in the SP you go in there carrying McMillan by the pool and 3 dogs) that you can hide but I don't recommend it and try to avoid going up the same route if you know a guy is up on the 2nd floor since Chiro will just have a field day on you if you do. Throw a grenade up in the area to maybe get him to move or go the long way around.

Flag Building has 3 ways to go up to the 2nd Floor. North End has a sloped hill going straight up inside the North end on the 2nd floor. South End has dark hallway that leads to middle stairs or you can go to the south end of the 2nd floor with the doorway on the right going up. As a sniper I like to hide in that dark hallway since most guys like to overlook it. If your playing as a sniper use those claymores once you get them to cover those doorways and hide in dark areas.

I don't recommend crouching outside next to walls or large cinder blocks or crossing out in the courtyard. I will see you and love you for it for giving me the chance of building up my K/D ratio. The trees can sometimes give you cover from the opposite sides of the building but I definitely recommend moving at all the times throughout so you don't get sniped. Check those Kill cams if you do so you can point them out to others.

Jake007g's take: My favorite gun to use on this map is the G36C. The only problem is you don't get it until later in the ranks. The MP5, AK and M4 are good for this map. LMG works well to because you can lay down in the upstairs of the buildings and pick people off as they move through.

If you aren't sniping on this map then I suggest having a smoke grenade equipped. If I spawn in the north I always move through the building on the right. I throw smoke as I run up to the broken wall so i won't get sniped when I move out around it to enter the building. You want to move fast though because you don't want the opposing team to get to the hole in the floor before you pass through. If this happens you can flash bang the person through the window upstairs and easily kill them from below. Or if you threw your smoke far enough you can enter from the front and go right up the steps.

If it's the other spawn I move through the building to left. Same building as above. First I throw smoke towards the other building to provide cover for my teammates, since I don't need it where I'm going. Instead of rushing to the hole in the floor at the other end when I get upstairs. I lay down and wait for them to come through the door by the steps. The only way they can get you is through that door or coming up behind you. Plus if you are far enough back from the door you usually don't have to worry about grenades.

Downpour
  • Weapons: Assault, LMG
  • British spawn by the barn and lower Turret. Russians spawn by the sheds and higher turret
  • Map points of interest
    • Big Barn/East Turret = British Spawn & British Turret
    • West Sheds & West Turret = Russian Spawn & Russian Turret
    • Silos & Bush & Bottleneck
    • Farmhouse & Backyard
    • Ramp = House Ramp
    • Central Barn = Tractor Shed
    • Workplace = Dark Room
    • Greenhouse
Another favorite map of mine. Most Skirmishes occur around the bottleneck, silos and bush area. Usually the team that spawns on the Russian side will come down that west road or main road and camp snipers. Watch for guys climbing the side ladder of the tractor shed to get on the roof and pick people off the bottleneck area. There is a crawl space between the bush and silos but be prepared once you crawl through to shoot.

Another danger zone is first walking up the house ramp to the door of the house. Guys will either mount the Russian turret and just lay fire on that house since it can go through walls and the area between the house and tractor shed. Not only that, but you'll have to contend with guys in the backyard area shooting the windows if you manage to make it inside the house.

Trends that I see on here is that teams that control the higher portion of the map (Russian spawn, Tractor Shed, House, Silos) tend to spawn camp the lower end. Id say its vital to control that upper area especially the turret. Helicopter barrages occur often and a fast way to take them down is to get on turret and go at it with it. The British Spawn or lower end isn't terrible either if you have dedicated turret guy and some accurate gunners. Smoke is an option I would consider as well to help move through the bottleneck.

Pipeline
  • Weapons: Assault, LMG, Sniper Rifles
  • British spawn on the hill. Russians spawn by the train cars
  • Map points of interest
    • Factory hall #1 = Building #1
    • Factory hall #2 = Building #2
    • Train carriages/Station Platform = Train Tracks
    • Little Joes = Turret House
    • Bunker = Underground House
    • The Hideout
Most of the places of interest on the map don't have a name other than the ones I've called out a few times so learning the ones on the map as it is would be encouraged. The buildings have numbers on them so you'll know which one is 1 and which one is 2. Note that building #1 has a ladder on the inside to get to the roof or climbing the ladder on the underground house or bunker can get you to the roof of building #1. Action will definitely take place inside both buildings. Also note you can go underground via the hideout, underground house and building #2. There is also a small hole to crawl into and out near the train tracks to get underground as well.

Sniper positions include the roof of building #1, grass knoll, turret house, pipeline hill and the back of the train tracks. Building #1 being the most trendy spot, you can usually shoot them from the inside of the building if they are inside on the catwalk. Snipers will sometimes lay down outside on the roof as well so take note.

Not much I can give in advice. Learning the hiding spots of both buildings from others is essential since guys that ive seen like to hide in the shadows crouching and camping waiting for their victim. Knowing where you can get in and out of the buildings is also encouraged for flanking purposes.

Bog
  • Weapons: Assault, LMG, SMG, Sniper Rifles
  • Marines spawn in Wall Street. Terrorists spawn in the back of McDonalds
  • Map points of interest :
    • Wall street = Marine Spawn
    • War pig
    • Pile o' rubbish = KOTH or trash pile Bus
    • Mcdonalds & KFC = I like those names better
    • Bus
    • Bog
    • North Bank = open container
Another favorite map of mine. Small yet open enough for snipers to take control and call in air strikes and choppers. Its pretty easy what players do when this map comes up.

Crossfire
  • Weapons: Assault, LMG, Sniper Rifles
  • Marines spawn on the uphill spawn. Terrorists spawn in the downhill spawn
  • Map points of intereston't have many names and I like what they have on the map here are my names that I've been known to say:
    • Uphill spawn = Marine Spawn
    • Diner = Marine House
    • uphill shops = Marine way
    • Downhill Spawn = Jihad spawn
    • Downhill shops = Jihad way
    • Restaurant = Jihad house
Another big Sniper Map. Snipers will take action on the various 2nd floors of all buildings especially in the Marine house, Jihad house and Jihad way. Snipes have been seen inside the coffee shop crouched looking over the Marine House and corner shop. Skilled snipers will take you out if you run down main street. Always stay inside buildings. Note that the bus will sometimes have a sniper once in awhile.

Deep impact works best IMO on this map with the various doorways and walls used for cover for assault gunners. I didnt put SMGs cause I feel you need the range and power of an assault rifle in this map for crossfire sections but if your skilled in those weapons, go ahead and use them. They have great mobility for going in and out of buildings. Crossfire(hence the map name) sections include the hotel, coffee shop, bakery and corner shop.

Cooked grenades work for flushing out the snipers in the 2nd floors. Definitely work on timing and throwing accuracy of your grenades.

Backlot
  • Weapons: Assault, LMG
  • Marines spawn near the garage area. Terrorists spawn in the backstreet area
  • Map points of interest:
  • Construction site = Industrial zone
  • Garage area = Marine Spawn
  • Backstreet = Terrorist Spawn
  • Turret house/Palm beach = Turrest House zone
  • Saddams House = Regular house but I like the saddam house
  • Center house= Roof House
  • Fort & Center area
Skirmishes end up usually around the industrial zone. Chiro has found that guys love that area and try to hold that place. I find that saddams house, roof house and the turret house zone are alot more vital but thats just me.

The roof house has access to a ladder outside from a window which looks across the turret house zone to get on the roof. Its a tough jump but still accessible. Once on the roof you have free reign over most of the entire map including the industrial zone and dead end area. You are a open target from all sides so use your prone abilities and the small A/C duct for cover. If a grenade kills you up there, then kudos for the guy that threw it. Note that you dont have to go inside the building to get to the 2nd floor of the roof house. You can climb the dumpster from the center area and then the window shade and climb into the window that looks across the industrial zone.

I don't like sniping on this map cause I feel there are too many risks from cooked grenades and various ways you can sneak to get into places. Saddams house would be the ideal sniper area I would go to. Plant claymores on both side doors and pick a shooting gallery to snipe

Strike

  • Weapons: Assault, LMG, Snipes
  • Marines spawn uphill. Terrorists spawn parking lot alley
  • Map map points of interest
    • Uphill = Marine Spawn
    • Parking lot Alley = Terrorist Spawn
    • Saddams House = Flower shop
    • Saddams Statue = Courtyard
    • Mosque Alley/Mosque Square = Courtyard alley/Courtyard square
    • Jazeera Towers = Body Shop
    • Bin Ladens House = Terrorist House
    • Dead End = Cafe area
Another great map. This map deals with alot of buildings to go in and out of. Terrorist spawn guys usually tend to go to the Terrorist House and courtyard alley. Marine spawn guys tend to go down to body shop, Cafe area, and courtyard. Snipers love hanging out on the 2nd floor body shop. Great way to dig them out is cooked grenades lobbed in the windows and picking them off from the shops or the al Qaeda road car outside the fence. Flower shop area is another great spot for picking people off Taliban avenue and marketplace. Beware of snipers running up to the Marine spawn and hiding up there. I will tend to start going to the marketplace and flower shop to get behind the guys.

Don't get trapped inside Little Berlin or the apartment block. Too many times I've seen guys trapped in that area and its very hard to get out. I don't usually carry smoke so I would have to rely on someone else that does. Watch out for guys camping the dumpster outside the mall near the flower shop. Dead End has a small cafe leading into courtyard square and alley. Best use of surrounding walls that ive taken advantage of has been climbing on the palm tree plant areas to look over those walls and picking people off wherever they run especially in the courtyard and little Berlin areas.

District
  • Weapons:Assault, LMG, SMG
  • Marines spawn on oxford street. Terrorists spawn above Well Square
  • Flickr points of interest
    • Trafalgar Square = Well Square
    • haymarket = Market Square
    • Marble Arch = Archway
    • Chelsea = Cafe Square
    • Westminster/Picadilly Circus = Gas Station area
    • Tower of London = Trap House
    • Buckingham Palace = Street House
    • Oxford Street Shops in bottom right corner
    • Landing = left of market square
Skirmishes on this map trend toward either Waterloo or Baker Street. Market Square and Archway offers quick access to flank opposing forces. If battle skirmishes make way toward Oxford Street, oxford street shops offer cover as well as the van on the street and doorway to trap house.

There are many barrels and cars that blow up so be careful crossing if you see barrels burning or cars burning cause they will blow up and kill you. I find airstrikes tough in this map with all the buildings blocking the carpet bombs coming down so calling pinpoint airstrikes are key. I usually tend to have success on calling them on both the streets as long as the fighters fly parallel to the street or on top of the marketsquare. If airstrikes are tough for you, Id advise skipping it all together and go straight for the chopper.

If snipers are in the area, they tend to camp baker street on the oxfor street end near where the guys knife is at on the map. They also love inside the cafe on cafe square overlooking the gas station area.

Showdown
  • Weapons: Assault, SMG, LMG, Shotguns
  • Marines spawn East gate. Terrorists spawn West gate. Or Vice Versa
  • Everything is pretty much self explanatory. I will give areas on how to go upstairs. Its alot better to actually play the map a few times to get to know your bearings and from then on, its easier on where your going.
    • From the East Gate...go toward the courtyard and turn right to go up the North side 2nd floor steps. You'll end up on the NE side 2nd floor.
    • From the West Gate...go toward the courtyard and turn right to go up the South side 2nd floor steps. You'll end up on the SW side 2nd floor.
    • South Side steps accessible from the East Gate side. Lead up to the SE side 2nd floor
    • North Side steps accessible from the West Gate side. Lead up to the NW side 2nd floor.
A small map with many places to hide especially inside the courtyard. Be aware of crouching and prone guys laying down to cover the steps as well as crouching and prone guys covering upstairs passages. As much as I hate it, Frag x3 works well. Just lob grenades till your arm falls off.

I feel controlling upstairs is critical. Its allot harder to get grenade kills from below and guys will definitely be open targets running around the bottom. Don't get caught in the courtyard. Stay close to walls and cover as much as possible. Extreme Conditioning is a great perk to exploit here. Juggernaut is another option.

Wet Work
  • Weapons: Assault, SMG, Shotguns, Snipes
  • British vs. Russians...don't know which end but they spawn on the bridges of the Stern and Bow respectively.
  • Everything is self explanatory on the map depending on which side you spawn its either right or left. I don't usually say starboard or port since map is so dark and you can get confused.
Annoying map for the fact that you have to go way and that's straight at the opposing force. A good team will split the left and right sides with a decent skilled sniper picking off the front line of soldiers. Flanking is tough unless you totally dominate one side of the ship. Of course you'll just have to avoid the millions of cooked grenades that fly in your direction.

Snipers love the mast decks but I feel they're easy prey. NVG goggles work well if you find it hard to see. There's allot of dark hiding spots so check dark spots. Unless its anything Team Hardcore, don't be afraid to shoot anything that moves. SMGs and Shotguns are my choice of weapons

Countdown
  • Weapons: Assault, Snipes
  • British spawn in the hangars North. Russians spawn in the hangars South. or VICE VERSA
  • Map Interest Items
    • Hangars North = Tank or Chopper Hangars aka British hangars
    • Hangars South = Tanker or Jeep Hangars aka Russian hangars
    • Bunker type thingies = Vents
    • Silos & Barricades
One of my least favorite maps. Snipers love trying to get on top of gas trucks and lay down prone on top of them. It does give them a definite advantage with their ghillie suits to be up there. There one disadvantage is the lack of movement swinging their sniper rifle when prone so it possible to see them move when they're on them. It is also possible to pick people off laying on top of the silo lids. Silos 1-4 have lids you can get on top of and reign down with a heighted view of the map. Only disadvantage is lack of cover and the steam coming up from the silos provide slim visibility.

Guys tend to lay prone along the corner silos b/c of the ample cover. I myself like to get a birds eye view from the silo lids and call out where the opposing force is heading. The vents offer great sniper coverage and most guys like going that way to flank opponents. If your a skilled sniper, I commend you cause I cant seem to find any open areas and don't like the views and mobility being on top of the gas trucks.

Skirmishes involve the wrecked chopper, comm site, crate alley and warehouse side of the map. Silos and barricades offer a hide-and-seek area so if your skilled in sneaking, this would be great for you. Don't end up camping in the hangars on either side. Teams are too good to let you out and will just spawn camp you if you stay inside hangars.

Shipment

  • Weapons: Anything available
  • Spawn points are useless since you spawn across from each other in this symmetrical map
Not much I can say except that its small and you will get killed multiple, multiple times. If your able to get air strike and choppers, you've got a great advantage of winning for yourself or your team. Frag x3, Sonic Boom, and Martyrdom is my preferred class with an SMG. Sometimes ill switch out the SMG for a shotgun and Sonic Boom for Double Tap.

If your willing to sacrifice mobility and slow reload times an LMG works as well. 100 rounds from an LMG will tear through people with Stopping Power. I wouldn't recommend Sleight of Hand here cause I don't think it would be practical since you will die before having any chance of reloading and sacrificing stopping power, juggernaut, double tap or sonic boom for sleight of hand for this map just doesn't seem worth it

Re: Call Of Duty Map Tactics

WOW man. I'm speechless. This is absolutely amazing. It's extremely in depth and extremely useful. I just got back into COD 4 after X months (longer than 3) and I feel like I've forgotten all of my tactics. This is astounding.

Re: Call Of Duty Map Tactics
